🌻 We're delighted to share some wonderful news! 🌻

The Sunflower Community Care Farm is thrilled to have been awarded two years of funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to continue our free Relieve & Rebuild women’s wellbeing sessions on Wednesdays.

This funding will enable us to provide weekly wellbeing sessions in small, supportive groups of up to six women every Wednesday, offering a safe, welcoming and non-judgemental space for those experiencing anxiety and other mental health challenges. Through spending time in nature, caring for animals and taking part in meaningful farm activities, women can rebuild confidence, improve their wellbeing, develop supportive friendships and realise they are not alone.

As a Community Interest Company, we receive no government or council funding, so grants like this are vital in helping us continue supporting our local community.

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund and, of course, to everyone who plays The National Lottery. Every ticket purchased helps make community projects like ours possible, enabling organisations across the UK to make a real difference to people's lives.

We are incredibly grateful for your support and look forward to continuing this important work over the next two years.

🌻 NEW FLEXIBLE CARE FARM SESSIONS 🌻

We're trialling a new flexible session at Sunflower Community Care Farm for women looking for a welcoming, supportive place to spend time outdoors – it is a fully funded 6-week pilot programme.

Join us between 10am and 3pm and stay for as much or as little of the day as you'd like. Whether you'd like to spend time with the animals, enjoy the countryside, chat with others over a cuppa, or simply take some time for yourself, you're very welcome.

These sessions are ideal for women who may be feeling isolated, anxious, overwhelmed, or who would simply benefit from some time in a friendly, supportive environment.

🌻 Could Our New Women's Wellbeing Sessions Be for You? 🌻

With HUGE thanks to The Tudwick Foundation, we are delighted to have secured funding to trial a new women's wellbeing session at Sunflower Community Care Farm CIC.

Running on Tuesdays from 10am–3pm, these sessions will offer a welcoming, supportive space where women can spend time outdoors, help care for animals, enjoy gardening and seasonal activities, or simply sit with a cup of tea and enjoy the peace of the countryside.

Unlike our Relieve & Rebuild programme, which follows a structured 12-week format, these sessions will offer greater flexibility. Women will be able to book the dates they wish to attend and choose either a full day or half day session.

The pilot programme will run for six weeks and we need to gauge interest before setting a start date.

If you are feeling isolated, overwhelmed, anxious, lacking confidence, or would simply benefit from spending time in a supportive environment with like-minded women, we'd love to hear from you.

No experience is needed. There is no pressure to talk, join in every activity, or share personal experiences. Just come as you are.

🏡 PREMIUM NURSERY ACCOMMODATION STILL OPEN FOR THE SEASON 🐦

A few weeks ago, a very clever pair of robins decided that the shelf in our meeting room was the perfect place to raise a family!

Despite the comings and goings of farm life, they successfully raised three beautiful chicks, who have now all fledged safely and flown the nest ❤️

We feel very privileged to have shared our meeting room with such determined little tenants — although the housekeeping standards did leave something to be desired! 😄

We currently run sessions for:

🌻 Roots & Wings – for adults with disabilities, offering meaningful farm-based activities that build confidence, purpose, and a sense of achievement.

🌻 Relieve & Rebuild – for women who feel that spending time outdoors, connecting with nature, and being with animals would support their mental wellbeing.

🌻 The Countrymen – for men in later life who enjoy the outdoors and may welcome opportunities for social connection.
