🎄 THE SKILLSWITHLILS CHRISTMAS MIRACLE 2026 IS OFFICIALLY ON! 🎄
​Hi everyone, Lily here! 👋✨

​Every year, my mission is to make sure nobody across Scarborough is left feeling lonely or goes without a proper, hot Christmas dinner. We’re officially back for our fifth year, and we have kicked things off in absolute style! 🍽️❤️
​A massive, heartfelt shoutout to the legendary crew at Dads Behaving Madly —especially my dad, Joe, and the rest of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks team. They smashed all 24 miles last Saturday and handed over an incredible £825 to start off our Christmas appeal! 🥾⛰️

​Now it’s my turn! This Saturday, 12th September, I’m heading up to Newcastle to take on the Junior Great North Run! 🏃‍♀️💨
​The best part? My dad is insisting on joining me—even though he’s currently hobbling around and can barely walk after tackling those three peaks last weekend! 🙈 If he can drag himself across that finish line after 24 miles in the Dales, we can definitely do this!

​Every single penny raised goes directly towards cooking and delivering hot festive meals, treats, and gifts to local people and families who need it most this Christmas.

🎄 My Christmas Fundraiser 2026 is on!! 🎄

Hi everyone, it's Lils! 👋 Every year I raise money to help people in Scarborough who find Christmas really hard, and I'm doing it all over again this year! 💛

The Dads at Dads Behaving Madly did such a great job yesterday to get me off to a great start but I have lots more plans 🙌

This Saturday 12th September I'm running the Junior Great North Run in Newcastle. I've done it before and I'm SO ready to give it everything I've got to raise loads of money for my community! 🏃‍♀️💨

The Dads have smashed it!!!!

They all managed to complete the full 28 miles and raising over £1200. I'm so proud of them all, this is a great start to my Christmas 2026 fundraising 🙌

I've been busy making them all a card to thank them and mum's let me stay up to meet the bus.

My next fundraiser will be announced tomorrow so keep an eye out 👀

It's going to be a busy week for me but I know there's lots of people in Scarborough that deserve to enjoy Christmas without worry so I'm determined! 💪

For now, a big well done to the Dads from Dads Behaving Madly for supporting me and especially Joe Parker for organising it all 💕

The lads are taking on the peaks for our Christmas dinners! 🥾⛰️❤️

​Lily here, and I am honestly so proud and buzzing to share this!
​The brilliant team over at Dads Behaving Madly are putting their boots on the ground this Saturday, 5th September 2026, to tackle all 24 miles of the brutal Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge!

​They aren't just climbing mountains for the challenge—they are doing it to support two causes right here in our community:
​Dads Behaving Madly: Raising vital funds to keep their peer-support sessions going, support local dads and carers, and open their permanent community hub.

​
Skillswithlils Christmas Miracle: Backing our Christmas mission to cook and deliver hot festive dinners and presents to lonely, isolated individuals and families across Scarborough so no one spends Christmas without a hot meal.

​A huge shout-out to ConnectEd Scarborough CIC and Think Stairlifts LTD for being amazing headline sponsors—covering transport and event T-shirts so that 100% of every single penny raised goes directly to the causes!

🌊 Campervan Adventures & My Very First Welshcake!

​Greetings from Newgale Campsite Dad and I have taken the campervan to Wales, and it has been absolute heaven. The beach here is stunning—we’ve had non-stop sessions out in the waves surfing, sea swimming, and climbing around exploring the sea caves!

​Naturally, after all that salt water, it was time for some serious post-surf foodie business. Despite being a 12-year-old chef and total food lover, I have never actually tried a traditional Welshcake… until today!

​I picked up a pack of artisan Welshcakes from Plumstone Welshcakes (Milk Chocolate flavour 🍫) to test them out:
​Price: £5.95 for a pack of 6
​Selection: They come in a fantastic variety of flavours

​The Verdict: 10/10 delicious! 😋 Crumbly, buttery, perfectly spiced, and the chocolate chips melted in the best way possible. The ultimate coastal snack!

​Supporting local independent makers wherever we travel is what it’s all about. Pair these with a cold drink at the picnic bench, and you really can't beat campervan life.

Thing 1 and Thing 2, back on the grill! 🌭

Yesterday I got to do one of my favourite things, cooking with my dad at the Dads Behaving Madly Annual BBQ!

It was only a short visit because he's not been well and is having a rest from work, but we still had the best time in our happy place cooking side by side.

I love being his little sidekick. We put on our matching aprons (I'm Thing 1, obviously 😄) and got stuck into cooking for everyone. There's nothing better than working the BBQ together 😍

So happy we got to do this again. Missed it loads! 💕
