When do we shut for the season? We don't, we just move indoors. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿงถ

From Thursday 15 October we're moving into the container full time for Hairst, our autumn menu. Thursday evenings, Friday and Saturday for lunch and dinner, and a proper three course Sunday roast, all day, from ยฃ55pp.

Think Cape Wrath oysters on culinary hay, hand-dived scallops in brown butter, Kylesku langoustines with garlic butter and a hunk of black olive bloomer to mop it all up. On Sundays it's a full roast with all the trimmings, Drumbeg pork or wild venison, finished with a hearty dessert inspired by the landscape.

Limited tables, so it's booking only once we're inside. Get a date in the diary to reserve your space. Book Hairst from 15 October to 8 November: https://www.crofterskitchen.com/autumn-menu

Long journeys around the north west highlands deserve a good stop.

Surrounded by crofts, mountains and the sea, weโ€™re a pretty good place to stretch your legs before getting back on the road.

Hello August. We can't quite believe we're already here.

A few months ago we were wondering what the container would feel like. Now we can't imagine Crofter's Kitchen without it.

Just a reminder, we're open Monday to Saturday, 12pm to 7pm. Order at the hatch, then eat inside or outside. Every dish is served in our seaweed based compostable packaging, so you can enjoy it wherever you like.

The response to our new Crofter's Table dining experience has been incredible. We've been fully booked and the feedback has been fantastic.

For now, we're pausing individual bookings while the summer season is in full swing so we can focus on our daily changing menu and keep up with demand. We'll still be welcoming private groups of eight or more, with enquiries through our website.

Later in the season we'll launch our autumn indoor dining menu, when individual Crofter's Table bookings will reopen. We'll share more over the next few weeks.

See you soon.

Right on the north-west corner of the Scottish Highlands, you'll find us. Cooking with produce landed as close to home as we can get, metres from a white sand beach. This is Crofter's Kitchen.

Whoa, June has kept us busy up here ๐Ÿฆ€๐Ÿƒ

A warm welcome to Simon, joining the team this month. We're so lucky to have such an accredited senior chef on board. He and Grant go way way back.

Hens, piggies and veg beds all absolutely thriving. Connecting to full infrastructure is almost complete and full power now means better coffee, more dishes, and a lot more capability in the kitchen.

Prepping away for weddings, private dining every Sunday, and we accidentally launched Crofter's Table. A bookable dining experience that takes our 30 mile menu from casual all day eating to an sit down evening in the container. Enquiries through our website.

Open Monday to Saturday, 12 until 7. Metres from Scourie Beach.

Goodbye May. Hello June ๐Ÿฆ€ ๐Ÿƒ

What. A. Month. Full every day, private dining every Sunday, four little piggies arrived on the croft, veg beds are finally doing their thing, and we went and won Highlands and Islands Food and Drink Business of the Year.

We're open Monday to Saturday, 12 until 7. You know where we are. Metres from Scourie Beach. June, we're ready for you.

Pinch us ๐Ÿ˜Œ From shucking scallops in our wellies to winning Highlands and Islands Food & Drink Business of the Year 2026, all within a few short hours.

Weโ€™re so proud to be recognised for what we do every day. Taking the finest produce from this edge of Scotland and doing our best to do it justice.

It was extra special being the 20th anniversary of HIFAD, hosted by the brilliant Hebridean Baker. The food, the music, the atmosphere. Did we mention the cheese? Wow.

Well done to every other finalist and winner. Such a pleasure meeting so many incredible businesses doing something special in the Highlands.

A huge thank you to our growing team who work so blooming hard. Quite a weekend. ๐Ÿƒ

Today, Crofter's Kitchen 2.0 opens its doors.

Step inside and you'll find yourself in a fisherman's cabin at the edge of the world.

Rustic timber walls. Plush sheepskins on every chair. Custom porthole artwork commissioned from local Sutherland artist Sheilah Cunningham, depicting the wild Atlantic waves outside.

Floor to ceiling windows looking out across the croft and the northwest Highland landscape. And Scourie Beach, metres away. This is year-round dining at the edge of Scotland.

In summer, order from the truck and eat outside in the sunshine or come inside and sit down. As we move into autumn, winter and spring, we'll be serving a dedicated seasonal menu.

We genuinely could not have done this without the incredible support of our local community. A huge heartfelt thank you to James Morrison Groundworks, and to our great friends at the former Kylesku Lodges who came and helped bring our space to life with the kit out. And of course, our incredible growing team.

You know who you are and we are so grateful.

Another week, another press feature ๐Ÿฅพ๐Ÿƒ

We're delighted to be featured in The Herald today, included in their guide to the best food stops for hikers, bikers and adventurers across Scotland.

Thank you to journalist Ailsa Sheldon for the wonderful write-up. She described us as "seafood stalwarts" and we'll take that all day long. She also quoted us perfectly:

"Dirty boots, sandy feet and tired legs are very welcome here."
