❗️An Important Update Regarding Bird Flu & Christmas Turkeys❗️
As many of you may already be aware, a case of avian influenza (bird flu) has recently been confirmed in the Belford area.
With Christmas fast approaching, we wanted to take a moment to reassure all of our customers who have placed, or are planning to place, their Christmas turkey orders with us here at The Herd.
We are pleased to confirm that our turkey supplier has NOT been affected by the current outbreak.
However, as a business that works closely with local farmers and suppliers, we understand just how quickly circumstances can change. With that in mind, we have already put contingency plans in place to ensure we can continue to fulfil our Christmas orders should the situation develop.
We are incredibly fortunate to also have a supply of turkeys available through Herb Fed Poultry, the same fantastic supplier who provides our delicious, high quality, free range chickens throughout the year.
So please rest assured, there will still be turkey on your Christmas dinner table!
We would, however, like to make one small request of our wonderful customers.
If you have collected a Christmas order form but haven’t yet returned it, we would be extremely grateful if you could get it back to us as soon as possible.
Having your orders confirmed early will allow us to work closely with our suppliers, monitor stock levels and plan ahead should there be any further developments. The earlier we know what everyone requires, the better prepared we can be to secure the quantities needed.
Finally, and most importantly, we want to acknowledge the devastating situation facing the farming business currently affected by this outbreak.
As farmers ourselves, we know just how much hard work, dedication, time and care goes into raising livestock. To face something like this is absolutely heartbreaking. Behind every farming business are families, livelihoods and people who have dedicated their lives to caring for their animals.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with everyone affected. We sincerely hope the outbreak can be contained quickly and that no other farming families have to experience the same devastation.
