And just like that we're at the end of another working week. One more reminder from us that the shop is closed all next week and will be re-opening as normal on Tuesday 8th September. . There's not a lot to say about our burgers to be honest, we just let the taste of them do the talking! We use a mixture of coarsely minced beef chuck, flank meat and rib caps for the perfect consistency and texture. This is then mixed by hand with a few simple seasonings and pressed into 6oz burgers because 4oz just isn't big enough! Right? 🔪🔪🔪

Some of our dry aged Hereford rump steaks cooked to perfection by last weekend! As a butcher one of the most common questions I get asked is 'what's your favourite steak?'. And to be honest my answer changes daily, depending on the carcass I'm working with, what mood I'm in and even what sides I'm going to eat it with. But if I'm honest, 8 times out of 10 when I take a steak home with me, it's a big slab of rump! 🔪🔪🔪

This year I will be taking part in The Great North Run in aid of Cancer Research UK. This is an event I have always had on my bucket list of things to do, and I thought if I'm going to finally take part then I should do it in aid of an amazing charity that is so close to so many of our hearts. I am hoping to raise a minimum of £500 and any donations of any size will be very much appreciated. For those of you who have been asking we made up a fresh batch of our venison, black pepper & red onion sausages today. We also did a little mix of our currywursts. It feels like forever since I last made these, I almost forgot my recipe for them!
