Look back to 2024 when we were setting up the electric netting and needed to test it. We did have a tester but I wanted to do a real life test.

The dogs took a hit from it and looked pretty upset about it so I felt the need to step up and get zapped too.

We're trying the supermarket method for sorting out items of interest for the chickens. Hopefully this means they'll cover off more of the 2500m2 of pasture they've been given at the moment.

Keep the chickens moving, but not too much. To much movement doesn't allow for sufficient grass re-growth.

Good morning!

Morning water fixes and happy chickens ranging and scratching on pasture. Good times!

This video shows the reaction of the chickens to a low-flying jet from the RAF passing over the farm. Most of the time it's fine; the chickens just hide under the chicken caravan but sometimes they can get spooked and accidentally get killed. Fortunately as in this instance most of the time they just hide away or jump over the net and I get a bit of free exercise.

The sheep are all looking well as we get closer and closer to lambing.

Mainly blue and orange back ends which is interesting. That's the colours for the same tup (ram). The other tup was yellow and red but I don't see many of those colours 😬. The good news is the tup that impregnated the majority was the one with the better genetics.

The chickens are just out of their house and sprinting up the hill to get their breakfast. Most important meal of the day apparently.
