And yes, that's not a typo...we'll be at two shows on the same day!

Come and find us, have a chat and, most importantly, come and taste the honey! 🍯 We’ll have a selection of our honeys with us, all from our own bees 🐝

“Is your honey raw?” 🍯🐝

You won’t see the word “raw” on our labels or our stall, and there’s a simple reason why.

In England, “raw honey” isn’t a legally defined term, so we prefer to tell you exactly what our honey is:

✓ Unpasteurised
✓ Not heat treated
✓ Extracted, strained and jarred
✓ Minimally handled
✓ Hive to jar

If by “raw” you mean honey that hasn’t been pasteurised or heavily processed, that’s exactly what you’ll find in our jars.

We simply choose to describe our honey clearly rather than use a word that doesn’t have a clear legal definition.

❤️ Thank you to everyone who came to see us at Ripon today. We met people from Hertfordshire, Derbyshire, Warwickshire and Wales, to name just a few!

We were especially blown away that some of our regulars came along specifically to support us, and it was so lovely to see our customers from Harrogate and Ripon too. Your support really does mean the world to us 💛 🐝

It's been a busy weekend, with the candles selling fast, so Brenda will be busy making more this week! We'll also be getting more honey jarred and ready for another busy weekend ahead.

🐝 Today we're in , and what a lovely welcome we've had already! Some of you have even come down especially because you knew we were here, which is just wonderful 😊

The sky is blue, the sun is shining, and we're surrounded by some fantastic makers and creators here in Ripon Market Square with Little Bird Markets ☀️

A rather leisurely start at 6.30am but with the temperature sitting at just 5°C it was a bit nippy and Emma was glad she'd taken her big coat. Thankfully the sun soon came out and it turned into a wonderfully warm day at Gargrave Show 🐝🍯

And what a busy day it was! Thank you to everyone who came to see us. We met people from all over the country, including London, the Scottish Borders, Lincolnshire and Buckinghamshire, and even had visitors from Germany who bought a jar of our Riverside honey to take home with them. 🇩🇪🍯 Danke schön! We hope you enjoy a little taste of Yorkshire when you get home.

We loved every minute of chatting to so many people about our bees, our honey and our candles, and it was brilliant to see so many familiar faces too.

After a cheeky pizza takeaway on the way home, we're back to getting everything ready for tomorrow's Little Bird Markets in Ripon. A busy evening of packing and preparing, but we're looking forward to another brilliant day tomorrow! 🐝🍯

🐝 Our agricultural show season starts this weekend!

We absolutely LOVE agricultural show season and Gargrave Show is the perfect way to kick things off ❤️

There’s so much going on at Gargrave, from livestock, horses and vintage vehicles to crafts, horticulture, the fell race and the ever-popular dog show. It’s a proper Yorkshire agricultural show and we love being part of it 🐮 🐑 🐾 🚜 🐴

We’ll be there with our Yorkshire honey and handmade beeswax candles, and we can’t wait!

And then, a little bit of last-minute news…

🐝 We’ve just booked our first ever Little Bird Markets at Ripon for this Sunday!

We know we have followers and customers around Ripon who will be delighted to see us there – and if you’ve never come across The Yorkshire Beekeeper before, this is your chance to come and say hello, discover our honey and see our handmade beeswax candles for yourself.

Saturday 22nd August – Gargrave Show
Sunday 23rd August – Little Bird Artisan Market, Ripon

🐝 Another moor, another batch of hives and we're now well into heather season.

This particular moor flowers a little later, so timing is everything. With very little other forage up here, we need to get the bees here at just the right time.

The heather is starting to pop, the recent bit of rain has been very welcome and the forecast for the week ahead is looking pretty much perfect for the bees to enjoy their summer holiday.

We were up at 2am yesterday and arrived on the moor in time to witness a spectacular sunrise. The wind was brisk and the blue skies did turn grey a few times, but what a stunning part of the world we live in. It's absolutely breathtaking up here and we're incredibly lucky to be able to keep bees in landscapes like this.

One more batch of hives to move to another heather site tonight and then the migration is complete.

The colonies on the other moor have already been busy making heather honey for the past couple of weeks. Now we're just waiting for this moor to get going too. If the weather plays its part, we're hoping for another fantastic heather honey harvest 🍯

🐝 What a day!

We were up at 2am moving more hives to another heather moor, then straight off the moor to Settle Market Square for 7am to get the stall set up.

Thankfully the weather stayed dry, and by ’eck, you kept us busy! Our first customer arrived for honey at 7.30am and we barely stopped all day. Well…Matt did manage to catch 40 winks in the chair! 😂

By noon we’d sold out of small jars and had to make a dash back to the unit for a restock. You also cleared us out of pillar candles and skep candles, so Brenda’s got plenty of making to do before our next stall at Gargrave Show on 22nd August!

Brenda’s enormous block of beeswax also made its first appearance today - and what a conversation piece it was!

Thank you to each and every one of you who stopped by, chatted, tasted, bought honey, asked questions and supported us. Your support really does mean the world.

Now it’s time for a brew, a cheeky pizza takeaway and, if we can make it that long, bed by 6pm! 😂
