We are an award-winning family farm in Kent with an innovative range of mail order products and a unique farm shop set amidst spectacular fields of lavender. We sell a range of local farm foods, our own seasonal farm produce and lots of lovely Lavender essential oils and gifts.

CASTLE FARM PUMPKINS 🎃 || Grown on the fertile soil of the Darent Valley… we love harvesting all our pumpkins and brining them into the farm shop for wonderful autumnal displays.

From the knobbly Mini Warts through to colorful Turks Turban and silky smooth Crown Prince, there is plenty to choose from for Autumn recipes or seasonal decoration!

DRILLING 🚜 || We are done! 🙌🏼 The farm team have been working hard over the recent weeks to cultivate the soil and drill (sow) all the winter crops – wheat, barley and linseed.

💪🏼 They are very happy to have finished this job as the window is very tight to get the drilling done while you have good ground conditions! And the rain today will be helping to get the seeds in their way.

🌱 These seeds are sown in the Autumn so that the plants start to grow before the Winter. This provides good ground cover over the Winter months and gives the plants a head start in the Spring when the weather warms up!

🍞🥪🥖 Every year we grow enough wheat to make one million loaves of bread and getting the drilling done well is an important first step! ​

PRESSED FLOWER PUMPKINS 🌸 || Not all pumpkins need to be scary! Add a touch of floral beauty to your Autumn! ✨. Have a go at decorating pumpkins with real pressed flowers – a pretty and creative alternative to spooky. 🌼🌸🎃

Pick up our DIY Pressed Flower Packs and glue in the farm shop, choose your pumpkins, and get making!

These are super simple, fun for all ages, and perfect for kids. Just paint the pumpkin with the glue, decorate with the flowers, and paint over to secure them in place. The glue will dry clear 🌸😊.

HALLOWEEN HOT CHOCOLATE 🎃🍫👻 || Get ready for a spooktacular treat for the kids to enjoy this October at the Castle Farm Coffee Cart!

Introducing the “Halloween Hot Chocolate” — a pumpkin themed kids’ (or grown up’s 😉) treat:
🍫 Rich, creamy hot chocolate as a base

WHEAT 🌾 || We don’t just grow wheat for bread making flour! We also cut and harvest beautiful long stems which are used to make these hand-tied Wheat Stook arrangements….

Free standing arrangements which compliment so many harvest scenes this time of year.. plus wall hung Wheat Sheaves too. A timeless tradition, which dates back to how they would cut and store the wheat harvest in the fields.

OCTOBER DUST 🌫️ 🌾 || It’s not every October you see quite this much dust flying behind a tractor… but after an unusually warm and very dry start to autumn, the fields are certainly telling the story.

We’ve been out drilling & rolling, getting the next crops into the ground — and the lack of rain is making itself very obvious! 🚜💨

September was 2.4°C warmer than average across the South East, with just 34.4mm of rainfall — around 57% of the long-term average. So, despite the calendar saying October, the conditions in the fields are looking (and feeling!) remarkably summery. ☀️

The dry weather has given us some good opportunities to get on with the autumn fieldwork, but after such a dry summer, the ground (& newly drilled seeds!) could definitely do with a proper drink now. 🌧️….. and I think some is happily arriving tomorrow!

FROM THE FIELDS 🧡 || And straight to the farm shop! All our beautiful big pumpkins are grown on farm soil and picked by hand, then brought into the shop to create colourful displays!

From these huge orange pumpkins through to white mini Casperita and speckled Harlequin- there is so much to choose between.

PUMPKINS 🎃 || Just look at all these colours, shapes and sizes!! 🧡🎃 All our squashes and pumpkins are grown here on the farm, then harvested by hand, and brought in to the farm shop for you to choose your favourite!

So many various including Rolet, lightening, harlequin, casperita, onion squash, crown prince…. Come and try something new!

CREED IRIS DEBONAIR 💜 || There’s something rather special about seeing a crop grown, harvested and distilled here at Castle Farm, become part of a fragrance now travelling around the world.

The fragrance ateliers at chose our Castle Farm, Kent grown Maillette Lavender Oil to bring a sophistication & freshness to the new Iris Debonair.

It was a delight to educate the media at the global launch in Paris about the way we grow, distill and extract this beautiful oil.

I hope you get to smell this fragrance soon… especially knowing a little slice of Kent is now travelling worldwide. 💜🇫🇷
