📍Eleven by Central Beach Leisure, Glass Tower Hotel - By Central Beach Leisure, Blackpool

We’ve been dying to try this place since it opened just a short while ago and we got our chance.

The hotel itself is beautiful with a lot of work going into making this one of the most aesthetically pleasing properties on the Blackpool seafront.

The food took that up another level. There’s a few menus to try but we opened for the Terrace bites which consist of a variety of tapas style dishes with a British twist.

We had

- Halloumi Fries with Sweet Chilli Dip
- BLT Sliders
- Steak Sliders
- Crispy Chicken with Chilli Jam
- Warm Foccasia with Balsamic Oil
- Chorizo Bites with Garlic Aioli
- Crispy Potatoes with Pesto & Garlic

There wasn’t one dish that fell short here. Each dish was fantastic with the chefs taking some classic menu items and levelling them up into something pretty special. It’s somewhere we’d be happy to revisit over and over again.

We’ve got it on good authority that there’s some pretty delicious sounding additions being added to the menu in just a few weeks so it sounds like the perfect excuse to return.

📍The Otley Burger Company, The Otley Tap House, Otley

We stopped by the Otley burger company to try out a few of their delicious items including

- Onion Rings
- Chicken Tenders
- Halloumi Fries
- Cheesy Chips
- Oklahoma Smash Burger
- BBQ Supreme Burger
- Couch Potato Burger

The food here is levels above what you’ll find at a normal takeaway. These guys are smashing out delicious scran from a food truck in the beer garden of a small tap house, and they’re putting their competition to shame.

There wasn’t one bite the fell short of superb. The Onion rings were thick battered like nothing we’ve ever seen, the tenders were juicy and crispy with a delicious flavour, these cheesy chips were layered with a variety of cheeses and a herby kick, all stunning.

But where the Otley burger company are really shining are their burgers.

The BBQ Supreme with its beef patty, smokey bbq sauce, cheddar, mozzarella, smokey bacon, crispy onions and those thick battered onion rings was divine.

The Couch Potato with its hand cut salted crisps, creamy blue cheese, peppered pastrami, grilled onions and mayo stole the show though, it had every flavour and texture you need, utterly superb, it’s no wonder Danny vs Food rates it as one of his best.

I recommend a lot of places, but honestly, if your wanting street food done right, then get yourself down to the Otley Burger Company as soon as you can 👌

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who sent 40th birthday messages, made posts, appeared in the birthday video, sent gifts, or took the time to wish me well.

The kindness & generosity you’ve shown has been genuinely moving.

The funny thing is, I never started social media to make friends.

I’ve never considered myself to be a people person. I tended to always see the worst in people (because let’s be honest, there’s some dodgy as hell folks amongst us) If you’d asked me a few years ago what I’d get out of creating content, friendships would have been very low on the list.

And yet, somehow, over the last three or four years, people have become the most important part of my days.

I’ve realised that when I visit a restaurant, I’m more interested in speaking to the owner or chef than I am in the food itself. When I visit a theme park, my favourite thing is chatting with staff and fellow creators. And when I visit a scare attraction, the conversations with the owners, actors and entertainers are more fulfilling than the mazes themselves.

The attractions, food, rides, experiences and all that jazz may be what draws us to visit a location, but it’s the people who make those visits special.

Looking back, the friendships I never intended to make have become some of the most important relationships in my life. They have supported me through difficult times, celebrated the good times, told me I’m being an ass when I’ve needed it, and ultimately made this journey far more rewarding than I ever imagined it could be.

So thank you. Not just for the birthday wishes, the messages, the gifts, and the video but thank you for the conversations, the laughs, the memories, the support, the friendships, and for proving me wrong about people.

Without even realising it, you’ve become the best part of Judventures.

We might have just found the best burgers in Yorkshire.

The Otley Burger Company located in The Otley Tap House are doing something pretty special when it comes to street food, and we couldn’t help trying a whole heap of delicious food, and we’re so glad we did.

Apologies for my lack of interaction over the last few months, and especially this past few weeks.

My physical health (I’ve still no idea what is bloody wrong) and therefore my anxieties surrounding my health have possibly been the worst they have ever been. It’s been 13 months now and I’ll be honest, some days it’s extremely difficult to care about anything else. Just making it through each day as a functioning husband, father and employee feels like an insurmountable task most days.

It’s just a couple of days until my 40th birthday, and my wish for the coming year is that I can achieve some semblance of normality, because you can bet your bottom dollar that if I even see a 50% improvement, I’m gonna smash this world so hard it’s gonna wish it used numbing cream 😉

So again, sorry for the lack of interaction, it sounds cliche but it’s not you…it’s me👌

We had such a great time checking out a huge amount of street food vendors at Southport Food & Drink Festival

Over 150+ vendors selling a huge variety of food and drinks from across the world, a beautiful park, entertainment and shows for the kids, and it's completely free to enter. Southport is setting the standard for what food festivals should be and I can't sing it's praises enough.

Just one more day remains for you to try this out, or be prepared early for next year, because this is one you'll want to return to each and every year.

Whilst in Skipton, we also nipped into Love Brownies to try out some of their famous sweet treats.

These decadent, dense squares were the perfect pick-me-up whilst wandering around Skipton.

Luci went for the morello cherry brownie with sea salted caramel ice cream, whilst I went with the salted caramel brownie. Both were absolutely delicious.

One thing that really stood out too was the staff, who all seemed to be having the time of their lives working there. I absolutely love seeing that because when people genuinely enjoy what they do, you just know there’s going to be extra care and passion going into the products. You could really tell that here, and it made the whole experience feel even more special.

After this we can’t wait to head on over to Love Brownies
