There’s something really special about a room full of people discovering a new favourite wine 🍷 It’s the reason we love hosting our tastings so much!

They’re never about making wine feel complicated, instead they’re about opening bottles we’re genuinely excited by, sharing the stories behind them, and watching guests discover something they probably wouldn’t have ordered from a wine list.

Some guests arrive knowing loads about wine. Others tell us they’re a bit nervous because they don’t know much at all. By the end of the evening, everyone’s chatting, making friends, asking questions, comparing favourites and usually planning which bottle they’re taking home.

That’s exactly how we think wine should be!

Every tasting is built by one of our team using wines they’ve personally chosen because they believe they’re worth sharing!

The last six months have been some of the busiest, most rewarding and most exhausting we’ve ever experienced.

Opening The Gillmont earlier this year and now Gillson’s Brasserie has meant long days, late nights, countless decisions and more hard work than we ever imagined. Every spare moment has gone into creating places that we hope you’ll love spending time in 🥂

This week, seeing so many of you walk through the doors of Gillson’s has been incredibly special.

Soft launch gave us exactly what we’d hoped for: the chance to see what worked well, identify the little details we can make even better, and continue refining the experience before settling into our stride. But what we’ll remember most is the patience, kindness and encouragement you showed our team while we found our feet.

That support means more than you’ll ever know ♥️

When we opened Gills & Co almost four years ago, we could only dream that one day we’d have three venues sitting side by side, with so many familiar faces choosing to spend their time with us. We never take that for granted 🍷

So, from all of us across Gills & Co, The Gillmont and Gillson’s Brasserie, thank you.

Thank you for booking tables, buying tickets, recommending us to friends, sharing our posts, cheering us on and, most importantly, continuing to choose us.

We’re still learning. We’re still refining. We’re still trying to make each venue a place you’ll want to return to again and again.

What a day we had yesterday at Sheffield Wine Week’s Festival at Bole Hills! 🍷☀️

It was so lovely to catch up with so many familiar faces, along with meeting plenty of new ones too.

Days like these are exactly why we love being part of Sheffield’s wine community. Thanks to everyone who came over for a chat, had a taste and a glass with us.

And a huge thank you to Virginia and Michael Pomranz for putting on such a brilliant event. We can’t wait for the next one! 🥂

At Gills & Co on 15th July, we’re exploring one of our favourite tasting themes - blends vs single varietals 🍷

We’ll be tasting wines side by side to understand how they differ when grapes are combined versus when they’re expressed on their own.
