May so far... 🪻
It's been a busy few weeks on the farm!
We've really ramped up show training, we aim to walk and wash the team once a day for 3 weeks before the first show.
We've brought both Longhorn and Blonde bulls home to ensure a tight calving block.
Poor Weasel had an injury to his foot, so needed bringing home sooner than I'd like. He served Xenolith on the way in, so luckily he's now covered all my cows!
His foot is on the mend, massive thanks to our wonderful trimmer, who also did Titan's feet plus the show team.
Otherwise we've been installing permanent wooden fencing with electric on mains... as our neighbours know, we struggled to keep the cows in last Summer!
Plus our team of wallers have been cracking on with our dilapidated limestone dry stone walls.
We've been grazing the cows tightly to make use of what grass we have!
Our draught sale at Bakewell went well and we're happy to hear all have settled in well in their new homes.
Calving is finished for the Longhorns (and accidental Blonghorn calves) and almost complete for the Blondes.
We haven't had to touch a cow since they've gone out, we drive round and find fresh dropped calves up and about! 👌
