Unfortunately, last night we had some unwanted guests on the patch... this is the type of stuff that makes us question why we carry on π Pumpkins were stollen/ stock was stollen/ pumpkins smashed and props destroyed.
If the people who did this or anyone who has an idea of who it was, i hope you are happy with yourselves and that it was worth it...
Im going to give everyone a little insight into what we do here at wurzels Pumpkin Farm.
All our pumpkins are grown on our farm. They are NOT bought in. We grow them from seed. This starts in April. For 6 months we are watering/repotting/weeding/planting them out in the field by hand/watering again/weeding again/ cropping them by hand/ spending weeks loading them into crates to put out ready for everyone to pick. We spend 2 months prepping/decorating/painting/making signs etc this is all in between parenting and other work commitments. We do not charge entry fee/booking fee/parking fee. We dont charge you to play on our games that are handmade. You just pay for your pumpkins and any extras you want. I also want to mention that this is a family run pumpkin patch. All this work is done by 3/4 people tops. And then we stand in a freezing field for 9 hours of the day for 11 days. So when you decide you want to steal pumpkins or complain about the prices, then maybe think twice π€
What has happened is not fair on us, and it's not fair on the children that visit us and the adults that spend their hard earned money.. It's an insult.
If everyone can share this post just to give a little insight and who knows.. maybe the people who did this will see this post and stop and think next time π
For everyone who has visited us this year and all the years we have been open. Thank you for all your support. Watching all the children have so much fun at wurzels Pumpkin Farm is the reason why we carry on as well as being able to have a good Christmas with our family. I think we have earned that.
Thank you π§‘
We are still open as usual!
