Lockerbrook Farm Outdoor Activities and Environmental Education Centre

Lockerbrook Farm Outdoor Activities and Environmental Education Centre Lockerbrook Farm is owned and managed by the Woodcraft Folk. A residential outdoor activity centre. We have 38 beds mainly in bunk style accommodation.

Lockerbrook Farm is situated high above the Derwent Valley Ladybower Reservoir. Commanding stunning views across the valley to Derwent Edge - we really are in the middle of nowhere. Our nearest neighbour is a mile away and we give groups and schools exclusive use to our accommodation and facilities whether you are staying for a week or weekend. Our “normal” bookings are Monday 11am to Friday 11am

and Friday 7pm to Sunday 4pm but we do vary these often to meet group needs. You are always the only group resident in the centre, but we provide staff on site during the week to support groups and volunteer wardens at weekends to meet group needs (staff and volunteers have separate accommodation). We also support the Duke of Edinburgh expedition programme (mainly Gold level but some Silver too) and small groups of DofE campers on unsupported expedition will occasionally use one of our fields as a makeshift camp site (separate facilities are provided for them). Most of our beds are in the East Barn where we also provide showers and drying room facilities. Our day time accommodation meets the needs of most groups. We have a large kitchen fully equipped for our catering service and also available to self catered groups. In our West Barn we have an enormous activity room with lounge areas and a splendid wood burning stove. There is plenty of seating and still room for two full size table tennis tables. It goes without saying that all rooms are centrally heated with radiators that you can control and fuel is included in your booking fee. We also provide kindling and locally sourced logs for the stove. Bedding is also provided as is everything you need to wash up (tea towels, washing up liquid, scourers, dish cloths) We will also empty your bins but we do strongly encourage groups to recycle and to take recycling home or drop it off on the way at the many Peak District recycling centres (we even provide the bags and a map to help you do this).
