https://heeleycityfarm.enthuse.com/FriendsOfTheFarm Founded just over 30 years ago, it began with £20 in the bank, donated saplings and flower seeds, a hut and a goat and masses of help from enthusiastic local people. It now employs over 50 people, many who live near the farm, and as well as being a livestock farm, has projects supporting young people

, families,community elders, healthy eating, local food growing sites, heritage, archaeology, adults with disabilities and learning difficulties, fuel poverty reduction, energy conservation, forest schools, environmental conservation and work experience. We also have a vegetarian and vegan community cafe, The Farm Kitchen, a peat free Garden Centre and South Yorkshire Energy Centre. We have food growing sites at Meersbrook Park Walled Garden, Firth Park Community Allotment, Wortley Hall Walled Garden, Low Edges and Norfolk Park Community Garden as well as a kitchen garden at the main farm site. Heeley Festival 2026! is back next Saturday, 12pm–8pm, with two stages, live music, family entertainment, a wide variety of food, drinks, crafts, activities and much more!

Best of all, it’s a fundraiser to help us continue to make a difference in our local community. ❤️

Our brand new colouring sheets have arrived in the kids’ corner, featuring some of the farm’s most loved residents! From Derek the Goat to Flash the Peacock, there's plenty to keep the children (or adults!) entertained while you visit. ☕️

🎉🐐 Fun for the junior festival goers! 🐐🎉

There’s always plenty going on at Heeley Festival 2026!, but here's just a few of the activities we think the little ones will love!

🐄 Meet our friendly farm animals, who’ll be out in the fields as usual. Animal food will be available if you’d like to get a little closer to your favourites!

🎡 Hills Amusements will be back in their usual spot below the stalls.

🎨 Get festival-ready with some amazing designs from Amy Flo face painting 🤩

🃏 Keep your eyes peeled for The Joker Entertainment, who’ll be wandering around the site with his incredible tricks and surprises 🤡

🥁 Enjoy the lively sounds of Sheffield Samba Band and the wonderful Kindling Choir as they bring music and energy to the festival atmosphere.

🎟️ Don’t forget to visit our tombola in the Garden Centre and make sure you cast your vote to name our two new calves!

🐃 Introducing our lovely new residents! 😍

KitKat and Crunchie are settling back into life in the beautiful countryside of North Yorkshire and we’re delighted to welcome two Northern Dairy Shorthorn calves to the farm in their place! This breed of cow is categorised as a priority breed on the watchlist and we are super lucky to have them at Heeley.🐮💛

Some of our regular visitors may remember Lavender and Bluebell, two much-loved cows from previous years. One of our new arrivals is actually Lavender’s daughter, making this a very special homecoming. 💜

We need your help with some your name suggestions, even better if they follow our 'nature' theme!

We’ll be putting together a shortlist and you’ll be able to cast your vote at Heeley Festival 2026! on the tombola stall in the garden centre. Put your suggestions in the comments!🐄

🎟️ Tombola Donations Needed! 🎟️

We’re on the lookout for quality items for the tombola at this year’s Heeley Festival 2026!

Do you have any unwanted gifts taking up space? Children’s toys that are still in great condition? Unused craft supplies or other items looking for a new home? We’d be incredibly grateful for your donations (no clothes or electrical items please).

Every prize helps us raise vital funds, with all proceeds going directly towards supporting the farm and our charitable work.

A little update on Digger, our handsome farm cat 🐱

Thank you so much to everyone who donated to our appeal to help fund Digger’s essential dental treatment. He is booked in for his tests and procedure next week at , and we’re all hopeful this will help him get back to his food-loving ways!

His skin condition is also gradually improving, despite our short-lived battle with his recovery collar… a battle that Digger most definitely won! 😹

It’s been lovely to see just how much support there has been for Digger. He’s clearly a very popular and much-loved boy, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped him on his journey.

As is often the case with dental work, we won’t know the final cost until the procedure has been completed. Rest assured that any funds remaining from the appeal will go directly towards Digger’s ongoing care and treatment.

Thank you again for your kindness and support. We’ll share another update as soon as we can. 🫶
