Love being outdoors and sharing your practical skills? We’re looking for an Outdoor Skills Tutor to join our education team!

This is a part-time role (15 hours / 2 days a week) where you’ll run hands-on adult learning sessions. You'll be helping small groups gain Level 1 qualifications in subjects such as construction, site maintenance, horticulture and woodland management.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong practical skills in at least one of these areas (woodwork, conservation, fencing, planting, etc.)

• Experience working with groups

• Someone who is passionate about supporting people from all backgrounds

Teaching experience is a bonus, but your practical knowledge and passion for outdoor education are what matter most.

🌦️The flooring is taking a little longer due to the weather, so the cafe will remain closed until our new reopening date - Wednesday the 2nd September, we can’t wait to welcome you back with our brand new menu 🌟

- Lead and develop our HR practices across the charity.

- Manage the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance and workforce planning.

-Ensure compliance with employment laws and use data to boost staff wellbeing and retention.

💼 What We Are Looking For

-A CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience).

-Strong knowledge of UK employment law and experience handling complex employee relations.

- Previous experience in the charity or voluntary sector is desirable. (An enhanced DBS check will be required).

⏱️ Hours: 7.5 hours per week (with the potential to increase as the role develops).

🎉Happy 1st Birthday to our lovely Ozzy! 🐴🩵

It’s hard to believe it’s already been one whole year since this cheeky little boy arrived! He has been a brilliant addition to the farm and is so incredibly loved by our groups. They've learnt so much from seeing him arrive on day one, helping to train him up and watching him learn about the world while bonding with his horse family.

If there is one thing you should know about Ozzy, it’s that food is his absolute number one priority in life. With the recent drought, hay has been in incredibly high demand for us to keep everyone fed. If you’d like to get Ozzy a birthday present he will truly appreciate, please consider buying a bale of hay! Every single contribution makes a massive difference to us and we receive no funding for our animals.

🍑🫜Get ready for our exciting Produce Show on the 26th September at HCF Autumn Festival 2026! 🫚🫑

Whether you are a seasoned grower or a total novice, there is a category for everyone, including children, families and community groups. The more the merrier!

Check out the full programme to find your perfect category, we've got everything from giant, wonky vegetables to home bakes and brews. Keep these in mind when you're harvesting over the next few weeks, you might just have a winner!

🚧 The Farm Kitchen at Heeley City Farm will be closing for a few days but for exciting reasons! 🚧

It will be closed starting Wednesday 26th August and will reopen on Sunday 30th, with a brand new menu!

During the closure, the much-anticipated resin floor is being installed in the outdoor seating area, creating a welcoming space for you to enjoy lunch outside.

Heavy machinery will be on-site during this time, so please take extra care if you're visiting the farm.

We apologise for any inconvenience, but hope the launch of a brand new menu will make up for it on re-opening day! Watch this space! 🥐☕
