Today the Royal Bath & West of England Society celebrates its 249th Anniversary 🎉

When the Society started in 1777:

🌍 The United States of America was just one year old
🚂 Rail travel hadn't been invented
📷 Nobody had taken a photograph
☎️ No one had made a phone call
🚲 The first bicycle was still 40 years away
💻 Computers were still almost 170 years away

And 249 years later, we're still championing agriculture, innovation and rural life across the South West 🌱🚜

5 years ago today we put on a very different type of Show 🌾🕰️

The Bath & West Country Festival replaced the Royal Bath & West Show in 2021, during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Whilst slightly more low-key than our traditional Show, the event tried to bring the same energy and even introduced some areas that are now visitor favourites!
