As the days get chillier, we’re bringing a little heat to Shepton Mallet Sunday Market.

New trader joins us this month and next, with his award-winning fruit marmalades and jellies, combining delicious fruity sweetness with a chilli kick. They’re perfect for autumn cheeseboards, warming glazes, marinades and even cocktails. With plenty of flavours and heat levels to explore, there’s something for everyone.

A big welcome to Dee Hopkins 🐇 Natural Wax Candle Maker, joining us at Shepton Mallet Sunday Market for the first time!

From a kitchen table in Frome comes a gorgeous collection of handmade candles and room diffusers, with a lot of thought going into what they’re made from. We’re talking renewable, biodegradable vegetable waxes, vegan and cruelty-free fragrances, and glass and ceramic containers designed to be reused or recycled. Every single product is made by hand, at home, by one person. No big production lines here.

We’re really pleased to have another local, independent business joining the market, especially one that puts so much care into its ingredients and environmental impact.

Who’s on your must-visit list this Sunday?

Our September trader line-up is here, bringing a brilliant mix of independent makers, producers, artists, vintage sellers, food traders and plenty more to the heart of our fabulous town. Some are from right here in Shepton, others are making the trip from across Somerset and the South West – all adding something different to your Sunday wander.

And don’t stop at the market stalls. Shepton’s independent shops, cafés and other local businesses are all part of the day too, with plenty to discover just a few steps away. Sunday 27 September | 10am–3pm | Shepton Mallet

This Sunday’s soundtrack (and entertainment) is sorted.

On the Town Street Stage this Sunday we have...

🎼 10.30–11.30: , with his immersive, acoustic, fingerstyle guitar.

🎷 12.00–13.00: Jazz Cannibals , bringing fun, New Orleans early jazz, joyous folk and reggae.

🎸 13.30–14.30: The Sylvertones, an acoustic duo with toe-tapping covers spanning from the 60s to now.

Over in Regal Way, Pixel Free Play will be taking over with their brilliant collection of interactive, tech-free wooden games, suitable for kids and adults alike. Drop in for a quick go or get thoroughly distracted and stay a while. Twinnies Petting Zoo will be back in their usual spot in the beautiful churchyard, while the DJs at the Market Cross keep the tunes coming throughout the day.

All of it is free to enjoy alongside a wander around the market, a bite to eat and a mooch through Shepton’s independent shops.

Something a little different is coming to Shepton Sunday Market this month...

We’re pleased to be joined by , who’ll be sharing the next stage of their Act to Adapt community project here in Shepton Mallet.

Back in July, local people came together at to talk about how Shepton could respond to the effects of a changing climate. Since then, those ideas have been worked on and refined into a local climate adaptation plan – and will be bringing it along to the market to share with the town.

It’s about practical, local action: helping Shepton become better prepared for things like extreme heat and flooding, while also strengthening our community, creating space for wildlife and improving local wellbeing.

What would help Shepton be better prepared for the future? Come along on Sun 27 Sept and see the plan, add your voice and be part of what happens next.

While ’s Circus in the Park has sadly been cancelled, you can still find plenty of circus-themed fun with KIDZFUN in Regal Way as part of Shepton Sunday Market.

Come and join us for free family fun alongside the market, live music, great food and all our brilliant independent traders.
