What a fantastic day at Moreton Show and the National Poll Hereford Show we all had

The show team did us proud again:
Team of 3 (Caesar, Chicago & Penny - 3rd
Pairs, Exhibitor owned (Caesar & Chicago) 5th
Heifer born 1/4/25 - 31/425 - Penny 2nd and Clover 6th
Bull born 1/9/24 - 31/12/24 - Caesar 2nd
Bull born 1/3/25 - 30/4/25 - Chicago 6th

Moreton Show Young Handlers (7 - 13yrs)
Mia 2nd & Sid 5th

Caesar was then selected to be the Hereford representative for the Interbreed Pairs along with Princess Nikita bred by Emma Rose Dexter
They did the Herefords proud and were tapped out Reserve Interbreed Champions

To top our day off we came 3rd in the Three Shires Cattle Championship.

Massive congratulations to Moralee Herefords on Winning Overall Breed Champion and Interbreed Champion

Thanks to judge Andrew Hughes and everyone at Moreton Show for all they do for the Herefords

Moreton Show kicked off with National Poll Herefords Young Handlers last night

With stiff competition and Judge Cerys Mai Jenkins putting them through their paces, both kids had to work hard for their positions:

Mia was 2nd in 13 - 17yrs
Sid was 1st in 7 - 12yrs, then went on to Reserve Overall Champion

Why not come along and have a go

This weekend it is the National Hereford Poll Show at Moreton Show, showcasing the best of the Herefords.

But before the excitement of the classes on Saturday there will be the young handler classes on the Friday evening. Every year our young handlers demonstrate their skills and expertise in the ring.

Our judge will put all the young members through their paces, observing their handling skills and questioning their knowledge.

This year there may be an extra little prize for our youngest members......👀

If you would like to enter please message Emma via Facebook or email on [email protected].

No animal? No problem!

If you would like to have a go but do not have access to an animal then please let us know and we can arrange one for you.

No experience? No problem!

It is all about learning and having new experiences. If you would like to have a go but are a little nervous and have not done it before then let us know. There will be many experienced 'older' handlers there to assist.

Don't know anyone? No problem!

Networking and welcoming vibes is our thing! Please make contact with Emma and she will pair you up with a friendly breeder.

Want to be involved on the Saturday? No problem!

If you get the showing bug but weren't planning on having a go on Saturday then we can help you with this.

No white coat? No problem!

UK Hereford Youth has wide range of sizes available for you to borrow! Just see Emma and she can sort this for you.

Not a Hereford breeder? NO PROBLEM!

In fact nothing is a problem. So if you are aged between 7 and 21, would like to do young handlers then please do get in touch!

Burwarton Show was a great day of catching up with our showing family and the kids doing us super proud again

In the classes:
Caesar - 4th (Bull born 1/7/24 - 1/3/25)
Chicago - 6th (Bull born after 1/3/26)
Penny - 2nd (Heifer born before July 25)
Clover - 4th (Heifer born after July 25)
Pairs - 3rd (Chicago & Penny)

Young Handlers:
What an incredible turnout in both age group:
* under 13 years - 10 handlers
* 13 - 18yrs - 16 stronger handlers
Sid - 1st (Under 13’s)
Mia Shaw - 3rd (13 - 18yrs)

Our niece Emmey joined us again for the 2nd year and only her 2nd time in Young Handlers. She did herself really proud holding her own in an exceptionally strong group of handlers

Sid then went on to win Overall Young Handler

Congratulations to the Jackson-Carr family on their Breed Championship & Reserve Interbred wins.

Plus the Team of Four on their Interbred Team of 4 win

Mike hot footed it back home yesterday afternoon, whilst the kids stayed at the Welsh (thanks Annie Perkins) to start baling our winter bedding for the cattle.

Thankfully there’s plenty of it this year, so will be good to see it in the shed soon
