Another fantastic day revisiting Nether Kellet CP School. Looking at Ramadhan, Islam and Pakistani Culture. Pupils enjoyed filling dates and covering them with chocolate. Making Mosques, Arabic writing, dressing up and the younger pupils enjoyed dancing too.

Last week was a busy week delivering my workshops in schools around Hull and Whitby. It’s always a pleasure to work with new schools as well as revisiting schools I’ve worked in the past next week I’ll be visiting a school in Lancashire area. Working as severely sight impaired can be challenging but grateful for continuing the work. Looking forward to speaking at some events too.

🌸 A lovely start to the Spring term! 🌸

I had a fabulous time visiting Gargrave Primary School today, exploring the special significance of dates during Ramadan and their importance in Islam. We talked about the different types of dates and their connection to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

As always, the workshop was hands-on and full of fun! The children enjoyed making coconut and date energy balls, dressing up in a range of traditional outfits, and getting creative with a box-making activity. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm, curiosity, and learning in action.

Thank you to everyone who has continued to support me in 2025, with the workshops I deliver.
This year has been tough, as I was registered severely sight impaired, trying to understand how the brain and optic nerve functions, how to use a long cane, how people behave towards SSI people. It has been challenging.

I feel blessed to have the confidence to continue working with support. 🙏
And hope to continue empowering others through my journey.

Wishing all my friends celebrating Christmas a happy and memorable Festive period.

Lovely to get feedback about the Ofsted report linking to what work I have been doing at one of my regular schools over the years, Fairburn Primary.
