We are truly overwhelmed by all the support and positive feedback we’ve received — from the lovely comments to everyone liking and sharing our page and posts since This Farming Life aired.

No matter how much we grow as a business or in the eyes of the media, we are still the same people, with family always coming first 🤍

From all of us at Hillside Farm 🚜🌱

What a journey this has been. This week saw the final episode of season 8 of This Farming Life air, and it’s been an incredible experience to be part of it.

Looking back on the memories shared from our farm over the past year, we feel very grateful for the opportunities that have come our way. Life sometimes takes you in unexpected directions, and sometimes you just have to take the chance and go with it.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has followed our journey throughout the series and supported us along the way. Your kind messages, encouragement and interest in life on the farm have meant so much to us.

Without a doubt, we’ll keep working away here on the farm and we’ll do our best to keep our little page going so we can continue to share updates, stories and memories with you in the years ahead.

🚜🐂 Callum set off on Monday night to head to Dingwall for the Luing cattle sale on Tuesday to start the new herd for South Arran Farms, Glenree.

The trade was strong 💪, but these cattle are the foundation of our pedigree breeding herd 🐄 and will be the backbone of the farm for years to come.

We are absolutely delighted with the 32 bulling heifers that arrived home today, Wednesday, the day after the sale 🎉🐂. A huge thank you to Ewen Stewart & Son for providing the transport home back to the island 🚛🏝️.

We also came home with a bull that will shortly join these heifers from Fearn Farm 🐃. A big thank you as well to the Scott family for the farm tour on Tuesday evening after the sale 🤝.

This is a day we will remember forever ❤️ and an exciting new chapter for South Arran Farms at Glenree 🌿🚜.

Lunch hour looking slightly different to your average person’s today 😅

Amazing what you can squeeze into an hour when there’s livestock involved.

Callum was off on exciting business on the mainland👀 watch this space… so it was down to the team at home to keep things ticking over.

Sometimes a picture does not do a view justice for its natural beauty 🌿📸, but if the land could talk, it would tell stories of the years gone by 🏔️🌧️.

We are very lucky to live and farm here 🚜🐑. Sometimes you just need to stop for a minute and take in the overwhelming landscape we live in and look after for such a short time in our existence 🌅, before passing it on to the next generation to hopefully care for and protect in the same way 🌎❤️.

While most of the district headed away to the Ayr Show, we’ve stayed home as lambing and calving are still full on here. Between moving cows, sheeting and hanging gates, and getting everything ready for a few big days ahead in the fank, it’s been busy from daylight to dark.

But it’s good to see some of the hard work starting to come together. 💪🐑🐄

Today the early lambers and their lambs got a shot of the new toy we brought them in for marking and they got their first Heptavac, fluke and worm and multi- vitamin dose.

Safe to say it’s made the job so much quicker and a lot less back breaking! 🙌 Definitely wondering why we didn’t get one sooner. 🐑💉

Also can we just appreciate the views working at the bottom of Goatfell - sometimes you’ve just got to stop and take that picture 🏔️📸

Hope everyone’s had a great weekend! It’s taken a while, but spring finally seems to be showing up and bringing some much-needed better weather with it ☀️🌱

With the fields drying up, the cows and calves are now out to grass, which means we can get the sheds mucked out and washed down—keeping everything clean, fresh, and ready for when we need them again. The dung won’t go to waste either; it’ll be put back onto the land later in the year after silage is cut, helping improve soil health naturally 🌾

We’re also making good progress with lambing, and it won’t be long before we’re onto marking the lambs—a busy but rewarding time of year!
