Letās talk about supermarket marketing š
Because the whole reason we started doing these videos was to help educate customers on what they are buying. Weāve said it before and weāll say it again, there is a place for supermarket meat. We donāt do these videos just to slag off the products (yes sometimes that happens when they are genuinely terrible!) - but we want to help educate customers on what to look for when youāre shopping.
These Aberdeen Angus āpremiumā burgers are a great example because when you actually read the ingredients, theyāre only 52% Aberdeen Angus and then ā39% beefā. No details or information on what beef, just ā39% beefā š¤
These burgers were the same price as ours based on weight comparison, and we know exactly whatās in ours.
There is nothing wrong with these burgers and Iām sure to eat they would taste perfectly fine, but itās the way the 39% beef is hidden in the ingredients on the back, despite the packaging āsellingā you a premium product, is something that doesnāt sit right with us. Supermarkets should be transparent with their products but that isnāt always the case.
Read the small print, check the back, and if you have one, support your local butcher!
