Such fun being a real life pooh bear🧸 making our first harvest of honey 🍯
We only took half, leaving enough for our beautiful bees to feast upon throughout the winter.
Coming in at ~16% moisture content, they've made some truly delicious honey 😋

If like me you were up and active in the early hours, did you see the lesser advertised Lunar Eclipse?
Visually, I thought, far more spectacular than the Solar Eclipse two weeks ago.
The energy was pretty intense too, the dogs were crazy coconuts last night 😆
My phone camera really didn't do it justice so here's a photo of a really cool tree stump I came across on a woodland walk ☺️

🍨🍰Happy 1st Birthday to Hades 🍰🍨

and my, what a handsome boy he's become 😍
He is such a joyful dog, always wagging his tail (and taking out anything in it's way)
He isn't afraid to take up space in the house, often laying in the most inconvenient places and with his 44kg moving forwards like a tanker ship, there's no stopping him when he comes towards you for ear nibbles 😆

As a protection dog he's a silent assassin, well camouflaged in the shadows.
His training has him able to find lost articles and hiding criminals, but his favourite game is when he gets to bite the sleeve 😁

We've had some epic adventures this last year, scrambling up mountains in Snowdonia, hiking in the Brecons and exploring new woodlands across the southwest.

Rump steaks all round this evening as we toast to many more fabulous years ahead with you our Hades ☺️

Wessex Water have announced a hosepipe ban, taking effect from 12.01am Tues 18th Aug.

Where I am in BA3, Wessex water deal with our Sewage but Bristol Water supply our water.

Bristol Water have not announced a ban.

🌞🌚New Moon Solar Eclipse 🌚🌞
Wasn't that spectacular?
The energy was intense but calm.
I chose to bathe in the light and energy with my eyes shut. Focusing on my breath, I became acutely aware of feeling the change in the sky. The darkening sky, the fast cooling of the temperature, the birds raucous quietening.

We are now in an 'eclipse window'. Solar Eclipses happen on a new moon, a couple times a year. They are either two weeks before or after a Lunar Eclipse which occurs on a full moon.

The next full moon is at it's peak on Fri 28th at 05.18 and will be a lunar eclipse.

Today has felt heavy 😪
I was woken up this morning by the smell of smoke 🔥
Smoke that had drifted on the prevailing wind from South Wales being on fire 😔
All wild fires are devastating but I felt this one in my soul.
South Wales is where we choose to spend so many of our special dates and seasonal celebrations. It hurts to know that the people, wildlife and nature of somewhere I love so much are in serious trouble.

Gardening through endless weeks of drought is tough.
Physically, I'm coping with working in the heat, by this point i'm acclimatised and have my hydration on point.
The gardens however are struggling. Seeing gardens that you put so much time and effort into, drying to a crisp. When it seems the only plants thriving are thistles, nettles and bindweed.

To cleanse myself of this sullen energy, I gave my locs a good wash 💦🚿
Out came poppy seeds, foxglove seeds and lavender heads 💜 😆
My locs have a few lumps and bumps where I get caught in Rose bushes and by brambles but I kinda don't mind.

I am nature.

🌞 S O L S T I C E 🧡💛 E Q U I N O X 🍂
Today marks the astrological mid point between Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox.
Despite the hazy heat of the midday sun, the mornings and evenings are getting cooler. The dewy meadow dampening my boots on the morning dog walk.
🌻🍂🌾🌻
I had planned to have a long weekend to celebrate the turn of the season but taking care of the puppy following his emergency surgery this week means i'm working tomorrow.
Grateful that as a gardener, my work enables me to be immersed in nature, feeling the seasons in all their glory.
