Weekend starts here…

Fantastic start to the weekend cooking on our new — with Bear proudly overseeing as the official Pit Barrel mascot 🐾🔥

Cooking our own Berkshire pork, we smoked a b***d & rolled leg with Memphis Pig Rub alongside a pulled pork shoulder — and the difference using ACH15 from was something else.

The leg was incredibly juicy and tender, with a beautiful balance of smoky sweetness… proper fire cooking at its best.

This is exactly what it’s all about — simple, honest food, cooked over fire, using the very best produce.

Fresh pork is available in limited quantities and once it’s gone, it’s gone until the next batch.

There are also always a few extra seasonal bits and pieces appearing in the shop, so it’s always worth popping in to see what’s new.

Taste of the West GOLD Award Winning Devon Kurobuta Plane & Pure Sausages

Returning very soon…

With our next small batch of Berkshire pigs heading for processing at the end of the month, we are now quietly opening reservations.

When judging, Taste of the West described our sausages as having:
“An impressively juicy and substantial texture, with a rich meaty mouthfeel.”

Made using our slow-grown, high welfare Berkshire pork, our sausages remain true to our Plain & Pure philosophy — no fillers, no additives, no colouring. Just carefully reared pork, simply seasoned.

Following customer requests, we will also be offering:

500g packs of our Gold Award sausage meat
• 100% Pure Berkshire Pork
• Naturally gluten free
• No additives or preservatives

Perfect for shaping into meatballs, sausage rolls, stuffing, or simply adding your own herbs and spices at home.

This is real food — traditionally reared, carefully butchered, and prepared in small batches.

GOLD – Taste of the West 2025

Our Devon Kurobuta porterhouse pork chops were awarded Gold by the Taste of the West judges – and their feedback says it all.

They praised the inviting, fresh aroma that develops into something truly rich once cooked, the generous cut with beautifully balanced fat, and a texture described as exceptionally smooth and buttery.

Every mouthful was noted for its creamy, rich depth of flavour, with sublime, crisp crackling and meat that was both satisfying and luxurious. The judges also highlighted the provenance of our pigs, commenting that the quality of the pork clearly reflected animals that had been exceptionally well reared.

This is exactly what we aim for with our slow-grown Berkshire pigs – flavour, welfare, provenance and proper pork, done right.
