We did it. ๐ฟโจ
The first ever Urban Space Supper Club in association with the Urban Wild Festival has taken place โ and I am still glowing.
What unfolded on Thursday evening at The Happy Bean Coffee Bar on Bedford Place was something truly special.
A room full of strangers who became a community. A space transformed with greenery, soft lights and the quiet reminder of what nature does for the soul. Low-carbon, plant-based Indian-fusion tasting plates โ pure, sustainable and very, very tasty. Non-alcoholic. Intentional. Alive. ๐
Our exceptional volunteers gave everything. Conversation cards sparked real talk about reimagining Southampton โ and people had THINGS TO SAY. ๐ฌ
Guests shared visions of London Road and Derby Road transformed into thriving green spaces. Mayflower Park in front of the Solent becoming a leisurely spot for food, drinks and just sitting by the water. The Guildhall Square softened with trees โ because yes, it is a little too cementy. ๐
Newspapers on display about Southampton National Park City and the Urban Wild Festival. Goodie bags filled with a Zaman sauce, a drink and a relaxing tea โ a little thank you to take home. ๐
Our guests were not a tick-box exercise. They were a genuinely inclusive, multi-racial, creative, brilliant group of human beings โ writers, entrepreneurs, scientists, technologists, linguists โ who came with open minds and generous hearts. Your presence was humbling. Truly. ๐
Bedford Place felt transformational. Food as a force for good. Green spaces as medicine. Community as the answer.
This is one of many more to come. ๐
Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, Fatima x
