If you’ve been trying to get your hands on a bottle of Mrs Ball’s Original Chutney in the UK lately, you may have noticed it’s becoming a little like gold dust. 😳

And there IS actually something going on behind the scenes…

Mrs Ball’s has recently undergone a major production change in South Africa. After being manufactured by a third party in Gauteng for more than a decade, production has now been brought directly in-house by Tiger Brands and moved to their newly upgraded R200 million facility in Paarl, Western Cape.

The good news is that the investment is designed to make production and supply MORE secure in the long run. 🙌

The not-so-good news? Right now is definitely a global Mrs Ball’s shortage, including here in the UK, with Original proving troublesome to get hold of.

So while the supply chain sorts itself out, we thought we’d help ONE lucky person survive the drought… 😂🇿🇦

After all the SA events happening around the country yesterday — not to mention the rugby 🍻🏉🇿🇦 — we suspect a few of you might be feeling a little… babalas this morning. So we’ll go easy on you. 😂

Right then, Gem Squash growers - this one’s for you! 👀🌱

We know loads of you (all over the world 🌍) are growing your own gems this year, so it’s time to get competitive…😅

Our heavyweight champion so far tips the scales at 540g! 💪

There is, however, a slight controversy… it appears to be a conjoined twin gem — two gems that have fused together while growing. So whether 540g officially counts as ONE gem or TWO is open to debate / your expert knowledge…
