We're permanently closing our doors on Friday 31 July after serving the local community for 50 years so it's your last chance to stock up on our homebaked and homemade goodies, handmade crafts, homegrown plants and more – all made and grown by local people for local people.

You can find us between 9.15am and 11.45am in The Porter Room at Southwick Community Centre.

We’re sad to announce that Southwick Country Market will permanently close its doors on Friday 31 July after serving the local community for 50 years.

Established by the Women’s Institute back in 1976, the Market sells homebaked or homemade goodies, handmade crafts, homegrown plants and more – all made and grown by local people for local people.

The difficult decision to close has been taken due to a number of factors but essentially boils down to becoming financially unsustainable.

Frances Burt, the Market Manager, says ‘We’re heartbroken to announce the closure of our Country Market despite our best efforts to revitalise interest and attract new shoppers. We’re incredibly grateful to our loyal customers who have supported us for the past five decades.

‘We’d love to see as many new or previous customers as possible on our remaining two markets so we can go out on a high. You can find us between 9.15am and 11.45am in The Porter Room at Southwick Community Centre on Friday 24 and Friday 31 July.’

There's not one but two opportunities to visit us this week and give your meals a home-made touch!

Visit us tomorrow (Friday 5/6) - we're open 9-11.45am at Southwick Community Centre. Then we'll also have a stall at the Adur East Lions Club family fun day on Sunday (7/6) at Buckingham Park, Shoreham, between 11am and 4pm.
