Another busy week here at First Choice Machinery 💪

We’ve been flat out supporting our customers, including a full overnight removal of a processing line last weekend, starting Saturday and working right through to Sunday morning ensuring everything was cleared and ready for Haith to come in and begin installing their machinery first thing Monday.

A big thank you to Jesse Horner at JG Multiserve and his team for their hard work and support on this one great effort all round to get the job done safely and efficiently.

We’ve also added a new “toy” to the fleet a compact crane capable of lifting up to 2.9 tonnes while still being able to fit through narrow doorways. A big step forward for us, and a real game changer when it comes to removing, installing, and decommissioning production lines safely and efficiently.

This is what it’s all about: working together, getting stuck in, and delivering when it matters most.

The Role

We are seeking a hands-on Electrical & Mechanical Engineer to work on a wide range of industrial food machinery. This is a varied role involving fault finding, repairs, refurbishments, installations, and occasional site work.

Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults on industrial machinery
• Carry out repairs, servicing, and refurbishments
• Install and commission equipment at customer sites
• Work on control panels, motors, conveyors, and automation systems
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and mechanical diagrams
• Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards
• Assist with loading, testing, and preparing machinery for sale or auction

Requirements
• Proven experience in both electrical and mechanical engineering
• Strong fault-finding skills
• Experience with 3-phase systems, motors, and control panels
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full UK driving licence (preferred)
• Flexible attitude with willingness to travel when required

Desirable (but not essential)
• Experience with food production or packaging machinery
• PLC knowledge (fault finding or basic programming)
• Welding or fabrication skills
