We are delighted to announce the winners of our Open Farm Sunday competitions. We will also be contacting all winners directly by email.

Lamb auction - Tina and Stuart each purchased half a lamb in our sealed bids auction. Thanks for all of the bids. The entire proceeds from this will be donated to the Brain Tumor Trust.

Treasure Hunt - The word was Piglet. Well done to everybody who got it right. Laura was selected from the winners to receive an Oak House Farm gift voucher.

Cattle Judging - Lot's of people had a go at cattle judging and proved the point that beauty is in the eye of the beholder as there were a wide range of suggestions for the placing from first to fifth.

Only one person agreed entirely with the adjudicating judges (Jasmine and Ben). Congratulations to Gemma who wins an Oak House Farm gift voucher. The order was:

5th - No 1 Blackberry Jess. Showing her age at 15, although still a credit to the breed.

4th - No 2 Dandelion. A dry cow and getting on in years.

3rd - No 5 Oreo. Red Poll maiden heifer. Nothing wrong but nothing special

2nd - No 4 Orla. An excellent shorthorn heifer. We're looking forward to seeing how she turns out as a cow.

1st- Luna Mist. Excellent example of a Red Poll cow. Tight and even bag, good colour and back line and in her prime at 5 years old. We placed her above Orla just because she is a proper working cow who is showing us what she can do, whereas Orla still has that in front of her. Luna Mist is pictured in this post.

Thanks to everyone who attended our Open Farm Sunday event today. We hope you all had a great time viewing the tractors, cows and pigs, and watching the various demonstrations. Competition results will be published tomorrow.

A special thanks to everyone who helped out today. It takes a real team effort to put on such a successful event.
