Stafford History Day STAFFORD HISTORY DAY in the Market Square & Town Centre Live bands on stage with Vibe1 (Stafford FM) Roadshow hosting.

Originally called STAFFORD WALKING STREET
The reason why it was called Walking Street; the concept comes from Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries where several streets are closed to traffic in towns or cities usually on a Saturday or Sunday evening. Stallholders set up shop and the public can meet up to socialise, sample street food, enjoy the mobile bars and local bars, saunter along the

retail stalls and town centre shops that stay open, listen to musicians and watch street performances so we wanted to create a similar experience where all ages can come and spend a few hours of fun and entertainment in the heart of our town
The event takes place in the Market Square and brings the whole town together, with late night shopping and the pubs and restaurants all involved . An event for all the community to enjoy young or old

🎶 Confirmed for Stafford History Day 2027!
Delighted that the amazing Ashley & Loggerheads Community Choir will be coming over from Market Drayton to celebrate Stafford History Day with us on Saturday 10th April.
They performed at the Eccleshall Spring Festival we organised and were absolutely amazing, so it’s brilliant to be welcoming them back to perform for us again, this time in Stafford Market Square.
Another fantastic addition to the day and lots more still to be announced!

🎭 Stafford History Day 2027 – Another Fantastic Addition!
We’re pleased to confirm that Staffordshire Shakespeare Society will be joining us for Stafford History Day on Saturday 10th April 2027.
They’ll be bringing Shakespeare to life throughout the day with wandering strolling players and impromptu performances around Stafford town centre, before heading to the Stafford Gatehouse Theatre for two performances in the Piano Bar:

We have only just started pulling Stafford History Day 2027 together and letting people know the date, and straight off the mark Stafford Morris Dancers wanted to be part of the day!
Next year is an extra special one for the group as they will be celebrating 70 years in the county town.

As part of Stafford History Day on Saturday 10th April 2027, Stafford Morris will not only be performing in the Market Square, they will also have an exhibition stand and give a presentation on the history of Morris dancing at the Stafford Gatehouse Theatre.
More talks, presentations, exhibitions and performances at the Gatehouse and across Stafford town centre will be announced as they are confirmed.
There is lots more to come as we start putting the day together!

Stafford History Day returns for its third year on Saturday 10th April 2027, 10am to 4pm, with events and activities taking place across Stafford Town Centre.
