🚨 NEW WATCHLIST NOW LIVE 🚨 Our 2026/27 Watchlist, which reflects robust analysis of each breed’s genetic diversity and registration data, shows a mixed picture for the UK’s native livestock and equine breeds.

The most significant changes are the movement of two sheep and two cattle breeds to the Priority category:
πŸ”΄ White Park Cattle
πŸ”΄ Lincoln Red Original Population Cattle
πŸ”΄ Boreray Sheep
πŸ”΄ Soay Sheep

The data shows more positive indications for Native Aberdeen Angus cattle: the breed saw a 37.2% increase in total registrations, the highest number since 2000 πŸ‘

2025 was also a very successful year for the Suffolk horse, with the number of dams producing a registered foal the highest since 2010 πŸ“ˆ

An emphasis on the importance of registrations has also helped drive a 132% increase of total registrations for the English Goat in 2025 compared to 2024 βœ…

Join us throughout the week as we explore the insights from this year's watchlist with a focus on those four breeds moved to the Priority category this year.

Lambing 2026 πŸ‘ has been and gone in a blur with many delightful moments and some moments questioning my life choices! πŸ€ͺ the weather has been perfect β˜€οΈ and most lambs are now living out in the fields except the youngest few who will hopefully join them end of this week. Why Choose Wool Over Synthetic?

It’s a natural, sustainable, and high-performing fibre that outshines synthetic alternatives in so many ways:

✨ Wool grows naturally on sheep and is biodegradable, unlike plastics that can linger in the environment for centuries.
✨ Keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer, unlike synthetic fibres that trap heat.
✨ Wool absorbs moisture while staying dry to the touch, helping your bedding, clothing, and interiors feel fresh.
✨ Wool fibres bend over 20,000 times without breaking, giving your products a longer life.
✨ Naturally resistant to dust mites, mould, and bacteria, with no harmful microplastics.

πŸ’¬ We’d love to hear from you: why do you use, wear, or sleep with wool? Share your favourites in the comments!
