Well, what can I say… Sonnet absolutely blew us away last night! 🤩

The beautiful setting, impeccable service and every single dish—each one was packed full of flavour and presented perfectly.

The menu:

The tasting menu was £110 per person, with an optional six-glass wine flight for £68 per person.

My only disappointment is… how on earth does this place not have a Michelin star?! ⭐ We’ve eaten at a number of Michelin-starred restaurants, and Sonnet is honestly better than some of them.

An incredible experience from start to finish and easily a 10/10 from us. Sonnet definitely deserves that star! 👏🏼🍷

🍽️ Amaze Gourmet Spice – Whitley Bay

With Jashn being one of our favourite restaurants, we decided to take a drive to Whitley Bay to try its sister restaurant, Amaze Gourmet Spice—and it definitely didn’t disappoint!

The décor is very modern and plush, the staff are incredibly attentive, and the food was a solid 10/10. 👌🏼

We ordered:

✨ Poppadom tray
✨ Chicken chaat
✨ Scallops
✨ Butter chicken
✨ Tandoori mixed grill
✨ Bombay potatoes
✨ Peshwari naan

Along with water and Coke, the total came to £88.

If you’re in the area, we would definitely recommend giving it a try! 😍

👀 A little note about Meeks Eat reviews…

We recently heard about local food reviewers charging businesses for reviews, and it got us thinking about how important it is for us to keep Meeks Eat completely honest and genuine.

🍴 We pay for ALL of our own food
🙈 Restaurants and pubs don’t know we’re coming
💷 We don’t accept payment for a positive review
⭐ If it’s a 10/10, we’ll say it’s a 10/10… and if we don’t rate something, we’ll say that too!

For us, once money changes hands for a review, it becomes difficult to know whether you’re getting a completely unbiased opinion.

We started this page simply because we LOVE eating out 😂 and people were always asking us where we recommend.

So when you see a Meeks Eat review, you know it’s based purely on our experience, our food and our own money.

No freebies. No paid praise. Just two foodies eating far too much and telling you exactly what we think 😂🍴❤️

We’re always getting asked where’s good to eat, so we thought we’d save ourselves some typing and make a page. 😂

Welcome to Meeks Eat.

We’ll be eating our way around Newcastle, the UK and anywhere else we end up on holiday, giving our honest opinions.

No pretending everywhere is a 10/10 because it looks good on Instagram. If it’s class, we’ll say so. If it’s not worth the hype, we’ll say that too.

I’m not the best at doing voice-overs 😂 but I’ll do my best to capture the vibe, the food and everything in between.

So if you’re always looking for somewhere decent to eat, fancy trying somewhere new, or just enjoy looking at food you probably shouldn’t be craving… give us a follow.

Recommendations are always welcome… our waistlines might not thank you, but we will. 🍻🍕
