Egg production has rocketed since the hens moved into the poly tunnel for the winter.
A dry hen is a happy hen, and happy hen is a productive hen!
What better excuse to get out on a Sunday than to grab some fresh free range eggs, only £2 a box. 🥚🥚🥚

Ten re-homed hens from Wing and a Prayer Hen Rescue SCIO have settled in well and are enjoying the recent good weather (and egg production reflects this)!
We’ve never had re-homed hens before but it seemed like a nice thing to try. 🙂

The water may be running across the fields and the wind blowing a hooly but our hens are happy as can be tucked up in the poly tunnel for the next few months. ☔️🐓
Staying dry, dust bathing all day and eating a seemingly endless supply of vegetables! 😁

With a return to milder weather, the hens are back to full production and I can leave the eggs in the honesty box without the risk of them freezing! 🥚🥶
Still only £1.75 per half dozen. 😁

FREEDOM! 🎉
With the bird flu restrictions finally lifted, the chickens spent their first day out of the poly tunnel since November.
Luckily, everybody remembered their way around the run and were soon out in the paddock.
