Half the fun here is spotting the little things tucked around the place. Keep an eye out for the chandelier in the trees.

Outdoor plumbing, Pepperscombe style. Copper tap, tin basin, and the compost loo up on its straw bales. You'll brush your teeth to birdsong.

Orchid on a blue-sky morning. Deckchairs out on the deck, hot tub waiting for later, and the field is all yours.

Slow mornings on the farm. The copper kettle doing the rounds, and a copy of Wabi Sabi in the book pile. Where else do you need to be?

The wood-fired tub takes 4 hours to heat, which is perfect when you're not in a rush to be anywhere. Light the fire, pour the rosé, and climb in as the steam gets going.

A guest staying in our cottage sent me these. Barn owls, out working the field at dusk. Just wow.
