Only a few weeks till the Allt Festival Show. 5-7th June. This piece is called Outer Inner. I have enjoyed playing with this beautiful bark from Daphnoides willow. Take a close look at the uprights on the two vessels. The left uses the outside of the bark and the right one the inside of the bark. Notice the way the weaving dimishes in width up the vessel - just like the slates on the old farmhouse - and the birch catkins and the cotton grass shout Flanders Moss National Nature Reserve

Allt Festival Group Show welcomes Kate Sankey from West Moss-side/Trossachs Yurts

Kate Sankey is a basket maker and weaver of natural fibres. Weaving is all about interconnectedness and the relationship forged with the materials through her practice. Through the act of making baskets, vessels and outdoor sculptural pieces, she creates a strong sense of reciprocity with her natural surroundings.
