We had a brilliant day out at Stirling Agricultural Show on Saturday! The rain (mostly) held off and despite the freezing wind keeping us in winter jackets the cattle did us proud with Rednock Dame Poll taking Reserve Overall Champion AOBB! πŸ€©πŸ†πŸŽ‰

Now you might think that winning her class and standing reserve would earn Dame the top spot of the day from Team Rednock but unfortunately for her she was outdone by our two year old (child) Freda who somehow managed to win β€œChampion of the Pre-School Section” with her entry of a decorated shell in the craft tent! πŸ˜‚πŸšπŸ”₯ Nancy was not too pleased to be outdone by her little sister but settled for a third place sweetened up by an ice cream and a ride on the carousel which had an β€œElsa from Frozen aeroplane!” - cue delight!

In the young bull class Rednock Viking stood 1st followed by Rednock Venom in 2nd πŸ₯‡πŸ₯ˆ and in the heifer class Rednock Dame Poll was 2nd, Rednock BeyoncΓ© 3rd & Rednock Emerald Poll 4th. Most importantly all the cattle behaved themselves and took in the atmosphere of the day ~ next stop ~ Royal Highland Show !

Great day at Gargunnock Farmers Club Show yesterday with Rednock Viking placing first in his class and then taking Reserve Overall Champion for the Continentals! πŸ₯‡πŸ†

A fab start to the show season for the team with everyone behaving themselves at their first run out. 🀩 Rednock Viking got man of the match by taking the Reserve Champion title but Rednock Emerald Poll also placed first in her class and the rest of the team placed well against some strong Charolais class mates!

Nancy’s show highlights were the bouncy castles and a chocolate ice cream & Freda’s was watching the kids wheelbarrow race and also claimed she also liked the ice cream that she had 3 licks total of before discarding it… 🍦

Virgil is by our French imported stockbull Senateur (bred by David Fourtet) who has recently sold sons for us at 20,000gns, 14,000gns & 11,000gns. Virgil is out of Rednock Neptune - a framey Officer daughter who has Drumaglea and Halley in her breeding & has excellent EBVs including +11 for milk and +44 for 400 day weight.

We wish Virgil all the best in his new herd up in Aberdeenshire and look forward to seeing his offspring on the ground next year at Corrichie Salers Cattle!

Great day today at Stirling Bull Sales with Rednock Unorthodox taking Reserve Overall Champion! πŸ†πŸ₯‡πŸŽ‰

πŸ₯‡πŸ₯ˆπŸ₯‰ Rednock took the 1-2-3 in the senior class with Rednock Unorthodox 1st, Rednock Umar 2nd & Rednock Uruk 3rd. In the junior class Rednock Vesuvius Poll came in at a respectable 5th place against some much older bulls.

⏰ Our pedigree bulling heifers sell tomorrow morning at 11am through the commercial ring with the bulls and haltered females at 1.45pm through the pedigree ring.
