THE BIG FARM DEBATE RETURNS TO THE ROYAL HIGHLAND SHOW
Join the James Hutton Institute and The Scottish Farmer at the 2026 Royal Highland Show for two showpiece debates on the future of Scottish farming, food, climate and land use.
Taking place at 10am on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 June on The Scottish Farmer stand on Avenue Q, the free debates will bring together farmers, scientists and industry leaders to discuss how Scotland grows food, manages land and responds to climate change.
Places are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so visitors are encouraged to arrive early and be part of these important conversations.
Meet Alison Younger, from Old Leckie Farm near Gargunnock, Stirlingshire.
Alison and her family run a 300-acre mixed farm with sheep, cattle, pigs, free-range hens, eggs, meat and vegetables sold from the farm.
She will bring a practical family farming view to our debate on food production, soil health, livestock systems and climate pressures at the Royal Highland Show.
