We love an experiment around here… šŸ”¬šŸ„’

Naomi, our epic Production Lead, is back to show you what we’ve been up to in the GRG kitchen recently.

The question is: when it comes to Hell or High Water, do we spear, or do we round? šŸ‘€

Pickle development is serious business, after all.

Another week, another Rodeo.

Last week at Goat Rodeo: we turned two, had our annual birthday sale and pickled like our lives depended on it.

Riveting social media content was also produced (slide 6, thank you Jess and Catriona) to let you know that we are at By Nick and Julia Nairn Foodie Fest, we we’ve been all weekend)

The birthday sale runs ā€˜til Monday — but the discount code only goes to the mailing list. Sign up at the link in bio and we’ll send it straight over.

Yes, we’re bribing you to join the newsletter. It’s working, isn’t it?

We don’t waste ANYTHING.

What started as a complete production disaster somehow turned into one of our favourite things we’ve ever made.

Thanks to some serious problem-solving from our Production Lead, Naomi, and a little helping hand from co-founder Lucy, Rescued Onion Wrangler Salt was born.

Proper pickled onion flavour. Sharp. Salty. Tangy as hell.

Here for a GOOD TIME, not a long time.

Newsletter subscribers get first dibs tomorrow. If you’re not on the list... you’ll have to sit tight until Sunday.

Once upon a time we used to think up a recipe, get some labels printed, and get it out for sale. These days getting something to market is a little bit trickier. There are lots of price calculations, label design, recipe tweaking, and compliance; however the hardest bit is still thinking up names for products!

We like to think that the labels on our products are as enticing as what is actually in the jar. But coming up with names that meet our very high standards is hard 🫠

It has to have the right balance of cheeky and fun but still let people know what's actually inside.

So if you have any ideas for our two new pickled onion products, let us know. The white onions are a little bit spicy; they got a bit of a bite. They have some chilli, some black pepper, some mustard and then our red onions have sumac and coriander and are delicious (I have eaten two jars in three days and one of those days I was actually out all day).

Thoughts below. And obviously if you suggest a name that we love, we will send you some onions and you will have our eternal gratitude... šŸ’—
