The lovely weather we are experiencing calls for packing up a picnic, grabbing a bottle of chilled Madeleine Angevine and heading to a park, or a shady countryside spot, to sit and chill ☀️

Madeleine Angevine is a wonderful accompaniment to picnic fare - pates, pork pies, salads & chicken wraps. It’s delicate elderflower flavour and savoury finish make it an ideal foodie wine or delicious on it’s own 🧺

At 11% ABV it’s also the perfect lower alcohol wine on hot days. As they say ‘serve chilled’!

What’s on at Danebury this July & August ☀️

A hidden gem, our seven acre vineyard is a delight to visit in the summer months. The grapes will just be forming at the end of July and by August they will be beginning to ripen.

We have two dates left to join us for an exclusive tour and tasting on the 24th July and 21st August 🥂

For the vineyard tour you will be taken in amongst the vines, and hear about the life of our rare and distinctive English heritage grape varieties.

The tasting takes place in our traditional tasting room with our Estate Manager, Patrick, who will guide you through a selection of our award-winning wines.

Our visits are informal and fun, a chance to visit Danebury which is rarely open to the public.

We have a few places left for the below dates -

June marks a special time of year in the vineyard at Danebury as it is when inflorescence takes place.

🤓 Inflorescence is the formation of tiny flowers, which will go on to become grapes later in the year.

Jake, our Vineyard Manager, took photos of these short lived, fragrant little treasures and is delighted to report than we have good, consistent flowering across the different vine varieties 🥂

This week marks a great time to celebrate all that makes the English wine industry so special 🍾

We are excited to announce that our Cossack English sparkling wine is being poured for an Official Ascot & Royal Ascot Ladies’ Day lunch The Three Fishes next Thursday 🍾

Tickets are still available for an afternoon watching Royal Ascot on their large outdoor screen, whilst enjoying an afternoon of English wine, elegant snacks and afternoon tea 🐎

We are delighted to share that this month our Madeleine Angevine will be served at one of Hampshire’s most celebrated events, The Grange Festival.

Set against the stunning backdrop of The Grange Estate, the festival runs from 2nd June - 12th July with a programme of opera and music, including La Bohème, Giulio Cesare, Eugene Onegin and a special tribute to Frank Sinatra 🎵

Our Madeleine Angevine is known for its crisp, refreshing character, with delicate floral aromas and vibrant citrus notes. If you are attending the festival we hope you will join us in raising a glass 🥂

Looking for something different to try to match the weather? Our Madeleine Angevine is a beautifully elegant white wine, reminiscent of an English orchard and perfect for summer drinking ☀️

Ripe orchard fruit and flinty aromas mingle on the nose and continue to show on the palate.

The mouthfeel is rounded with a slight chalky texture: a nod to the Hampshire chalky soils on which the grapes were grown, tempering the wine’s racy acidity and adding structure. A light honeyed note develops on the finish, contributing a subtle richness.

Rulander is a synonym for Pinot Gris, a white grape variety originating from France.

We prize it as a blending partner for both our Reserve still white wine and our sparkling Cossack 🍾

It brings a vibrant, crisp and slightly nutty character to the final wine.

Tutored vineyard tour amongst the vines of our small 7 acre vineyard, with the Estate Manager.

Tasting of two wines in our traditional tasting room accompanied by home made nibbles🥂

Discover our underground chalk cellar where the wines are stored.

Danebury is rarely open to the public and places are limited so this is a unique opportunity to visit us. All our wines will also be available to buy cellar door on the day.
