THINGS // Frighteningly warm out eh? As it's been agreed upon we must all needlessly perish let's spend some time together! Snacking opportunities abound in this tiny, tarnished Reddish room.

THURSDAY// Bánh Mì return with a grilled steak number and a mushroom version too. Beautiful locally-baked baguettes as usual. We'll be performing lunch during the day and again on Friday. The soup will be excellent, the room will be empty. Come and grab a seat!

SUNDAY// Very excited to welcome to a Soft Sunday. I'm totally in love with and looking forward to seeing which branches of the gang he brings along with him. The kitchen will be offering a Thai curry menu in collaboration with Baan Phad Thai. I've forgotten to write the menu and realised once I'd started the post. Too late to go back, it's hard enough persuading myself to use this tedious s**t-machine. It'll be nice, there'll be Panang curry with rice and option of veg, chicken & fish. Maybe some wings.

In other news we're looking for staff! (Begging post to follow).

KELLER DWELLERS // Like sexy singles at the end of a premium-rate phone number, we are in YOUR AREA NOW. Various activity this week as we've jazzed up by the homies, delighted by friendship once more when all seems lost, or at least tedious. We're open every day, the pints are always nice but here's the highlights:

THURSDAY// That man Jason Boardman of Before I Die has tricked me into a Stocktoberfest adjacent event by tempting my palette with a mini cask of his favourite Kellerbier. We'll probably slurp that but we will have The Runaway Brewery's Keller on cask(!) and RedWillow Brewery Keller on keg. In the kitchen we'll be knocking out schnitzel & potato salad to ask as ballast in the battle against too many delicious pints. Jason will be on the one deck spinning from his German box, in particular both albums from Konformer will be getting a run out. There's also the opportunity to win a copy of their latest masterpiece via a raffle-based happening. Nice one Jason, he makes things happen.

FRIDAY// Lunch (and Thursday), there's soup and porchetta sandwiches, you'd be a dick to miss it. Or just busy I suppose.

SUNDAY// We're getting soft once more and steak is on the menu for the filthy carnivores. On the one deck we're getting together with best bud of the bar Elliot Barlow (yes, the famous drummer) to spin some records, with a focus on our local favourites, the artists we love and support in a non-creepy way. Deffo be spinning sonnenspot ATM Musick Dean McPhee etc.

BUSY // Late notice but it's a busy week here in Reddish. If you're going to drive in several pints of fine cask ale then you're wise to have a snack to steady the ship. Many such snacking opportunities are available this week...

THURSDAY// Lunch returns with top toasties, butties, quiche and that lovely crumble cake. No custard, again. Probably the last run out for quiche, nobody likes quiche. Time for soup season? Reckon so. In the evening we're serving sausage and mash because it IS sausage and mash season.

FRIDAY// Lunch 12-3 then we've got a special guest in the kitchen! Alex from The Pizzeria is starting a slice party from 5, because eating isn't cheating. Have a slice, chill out, don't shout at the taxi driver. Very exciting really.

SATURDAY// Probably be something on the bar but I won't be here, going round to my mum's to make dinner.

SUNDAY// Seasonal snacking to a soundtrack. Been meaning to get Fritz down for a while and here we are, the system works. Food from 2, tunes from 3. Get down early, scrap for a table, tip heavily.

That it? Oh, there's new bar snacks too. Come and have a rummage.

TOTALLY TIRED // Everything is on delay, Fully Peppered Festival saw to that. The week loops around and now we're chasing. Exhausted by joy, ragged from full-force friendship. We've already created new ghosts before I got chance to alert you to the happenings. So, this week.

MONDAY - We were late and filthy but we did it. Chicken stew, veg boxes, unusual tunes. The true fans know Monday is the best day in the bar and y/siR helped stir it into consciousness once again. Lovely guy, f**k the haters.

THURSDAY - You've missed pizza night. It was nice, personal ordeal of tearing as many pizzas as I served aside. The dough wasn't with me, more holes than a colander factory. Served a couple of round ones so all good. popped in and propped up, excellent cameo.

LUNCH - Had some lovely people in, the community is strong: Marbury Road Edible Garden lot, guest appearance from Castrads heads. That beef toastie is a dirty boy but I like it. Lunch rides again Friday 12 til 3.

SUNDAY - The softest of days is back, a full-scale snack-attack with an all-vinyl backing track (should've gone to young Matt's poetry night, hope it went well brother). You know how this one goes - get in early, get a seat, get smoothened out on fine cask ales and hope the chef isn't hungover. Burned? Caramelised.

Thanks all for supporting our tiny pub. Bravo to the Fully Peppered Festival crew for their impressive endeavours - it was magical, I'm in love with you all.

THANKS AGAIN // It's been a busy time, I've noticed. The First Annual Reddish Social came & went, 6 hours of beautiful community action. We're so thankful you people turned out for an extra-relaxing day of drinking and snacking in Houldsworth Square, it was great to see the place so decorated with activity. Big thanks to the lads on the decks y/siR, Sam McEwen & Jason Boardman and to for the sound set-up. Everything could have been chaotic but Pel Mercer made sure it wasn't. She's the best. The guys from Good Times Tattoo Shop celebrated 10 years in Reddish and were essential in organising, advertising and bringing people to the party. A good time indeed. So happy The Runaway Brewery came down too, excellent b**r by excellent people.

It's since been our 4th birthday, which we brewed a b**r for with The Runaway Brewery & Blackjack Brew Co. - a formidable red l***r that's tasting great and flew out on Sunday. I'm grateful we're still here after 4 years and now, in year 5, it's v5.0. What next? Days peeling by like a calendar in a blizzard. Nice sandwiches I imagine, some things in pastry, baked goods. Get involved if you want - kitchen is flexible, vinyl deck is open. We're trying our best.

FINE // It's Tuesday again and the abyss stretches out ahead of us once more - how do we fill the void? How to plan for a future that doesn't exist? I suppose it's been stolen from us, like an existential Private Finance Initiative. Nice one Tony you piece of s**t. It's been a long weekend and it's a long week ahead.

WEDNESDAY// We'll be open and there'll be nice snacks on the bar, I'll be in Liverpool watching/listening at a Konformer/ATM Musick/Jason Boardman gig. You should probably go.

THURSDAY// Steak night sizzles back around, bavettes on the grill, Matt on the bar. Not written the menu so no idea what the sauce will be yet, answers on a postcard. We take requests, we just don't listen if they're s**te. There will certainly be chips so you'll all be fine, ketchup on request for the children.

LUNCH // On Thursday and Friday we routinely attempt to sell lunch to people. It doesn't go well because everyone's at work. But if you're knocking about or pretending to work from home come on down, the menu is decent.

SUNDAY // Some sort of birthday party is going on. It's been 4 years since we opened and I largely regret most of it, so we're going for Reddish Ale v5.0 rather than celebrating the past. I believe that in hospitality the fifth year of a business is when everything gets easier and you start making money or something so I'm leaning into that. What can we do next? Can we reclaim the future stolen by our greedy, genocidal overlords? Perhaps we won't get heads on spikes yet, but we can have a nice little party, hold tightly to each other, celebrate friendship, joy and working class people bothering to do nice things. We've got top lads on the records, a red l***r to launch and I'll knock up some nice dinner - easy puzzle pieces sliding together. Pint? Pint.

NEXT! // What the actual f**k is going on? Crazy pace to life eh? All swirl and death dances. Make snacks, have pints, move on. This week we'll once more be ensuring that a room exists where people can drink, eat and listen to nice tunes. It's popular now, like market manipulation and human trafficking.

WEDNESDAY// I'll be in the kitchen all day behind the curtain, changing the state of various foods and refrigerating them so that in the future they can be turned into dishes; chef wankers love calling it 'prep'. I'll walk off about 5 or 6 and there'll be lovingly made snacks on the bar that will pair perfectly with fine cask ale or the final gallons of the exceptional Helles we have on from The Runaway Brewery. It'll run out soon, the vanity photography project will be over. Hopefully there's some sort of red l***r coming up to follow it that we can use as a celebratory beverage whilst we suck ourselves off for having managed to keep a daft little bar open for four years.

THURSDAY// Pizza - you've heard of that right? Disc-shaped food. Italians make it, the Lebanese do it better. F**k Israel. Pulling a few bits out of the freezer, getting a few beautiful ingredients from our fine food supplier, working the dough mixer. It'll be nice, I'm experienced.

LUNCH // It happens every week, Thursday and Friday. Cup of coffee? Slice of cake? Nice, have a seat, a butty, watch the traffic. I'm in a focaccia phase and am going to make some sausage butties. I won't force you to have salad, I'll get some brown sauce. Butty shops are dying, support your local half-baked bakery.

FRIDAY & SATURDAY// They just play themselves out don't they? I'll make sure there's bar snacks. Friday night will have a luxurious array, Saturday I'll be resting but there'll be something to scran on.

SUNDAY// We're back, seasonal snacks, lovely little menu, great day in the bar. Get in early, go bed early before the horror of Monday returns (Monday is actually arguably the best day at RA). No DJ booked at the moment, dropped the ball a bit, will probably start phoning the lads around Thursday if I don't get it sorted. What's Jed up to? Not seen Wineboy in a while. Let's see who picks up.
