I think it’s about time for an explanation of what’s been going on with Reids Gold over the past year or so. I had to take some time off the brewing due to being a single parent and having a commitment to getting both my kids their first cars, through their driving tests and prepared for college/uni. I’ve had to go back to oil and gas to achieve this, I’ve had some personal issues, like we all have from time to time but I am finally in a better position financially and mentally.
I have now cleared all the business debts and bounce back loan and I can now start fresh again without the pressure of taking a wage and not being able to fully provide for my family which was getting very stressful at the time.
I have achieved so much on my journey and have been supported by so many people, I feel that I need to get back into it, at least as much as I am able, so thank you to everyone that has supported me in the past.❤️
With that now said, the brewing will need to take a new direction. I now plan to brew some of the old favourites and best sellers like North Sea Haar, Green Monkey Wheat, life hands you oranges, Raspberry Sun etc. My focus will be one doing one off experimental beers and once they are gone they are gone, this is why I got into brewing in the first place and churning out the same beers over and over is really not for me. I’m no longer in it for the money. I want to enjoy it again. I don’t need to be in supermarkets to survive, I don’t need to compete for market share, all I need to do is just do my own thing at my own pace.
The website is still up and running and I will be promoting and encouraging customers to use this first as with the free delivery options and lower than retail price it is better value for everyone which I hope is understandable.
I have heard a rumour that I’ve sold my brewing tanks and the business is closed so to explain, I sold off larger tanks I built myself for upgrade plans which never went ahead, I still have all the kit I have always had.
I am going to now be the quiet, local brewer, that brews one off, interesting and flavourful beers and focus on quality over quantity.
