And the winner of the Gloucestershire Grassland Society cup for the best silage made in 2024 is....... 🥁🥁🥁...Liz Godsell & team at Spring Farm! Huge thanks to Molly Watkins of Mole Valley Farmers for judging the competition with colleague Dr Coral Taplin. Presenting the cup, Molly reminded us all about what a difficult, poor first cut most farmers had faced last year with the mild winter and long, cold wet spring. She said they had an enjoyable day visiting all the silage entries and coupled with silage analyses, the winning silage not only analysed well but the attention to detail on clamp management put it in 1st place. Congratulations to the farm team at Godsells Cheese! 2nd place: James Merrett and 3rd place: Darrell Wallace. Well done to all the entries!
