Scanning all done, thanks to Lurgan Sheep Vet clear scan 🥳 but interested to see she picked up some scarring on the lungs of some of our younger ewes who had potentially some lung worm or pneumonia earlier in the year. Wee Lotta was helping us out loads to 🤗

OPA scanning today, Lurgan Sheep Vet is over to scan using thoracic ultrasonography (yes I googled that) just another tool we use to have as healthy a flock as possible.

💛 80 years young and still our Hi-Viz Hero! 💛

What a day! We managed to pull off a surprise party for Dad/ Grampa to celebrate his 80th birthday 🎉

Family, friends, workmates and so many wonderful people whose lives he has touched over the years all came together to celebrate him. The room was full of hi-viz, laughter, happy tears, balloons, cake and memories he’ll treasure forever. 💛

And one of the most special guests of all was little Calina Jayne, just 4 weeks old, who came along to celebrate Gordie’s 80th birthday. 🥹❤️ What a beautiful moment 80 years of life, love and memories, with a brand-new generation there to share the day with him.

Dad has always been the person who shows up for everyone else, so seeing so many people show up for him was incredibly special. It really says everything about the man he is. ❤️

😂 And judging by the amount of wh**ky he got, I reckon he’s got enough to have a bath in it every day until he reaches 100! 🥃🤣

So, 80 years of being loved, well… actually still 79! 😂 His actual birthday is the 9th, but at that age, who cares?! 🤣

Respected, appreciated and surrounded by so many people who love him. What an incredible way to celebrate an incredible man. 🥳🎂💛

Happy 80th birthday, Dad… when it actually arrives! 😂❤️ Our Hi-Viz Hero forever! 💛

Ten years ago today, this guy turned up on the croft.

Since then he’s gone on to do rather well for himself world-famous actor, Broadway, films, television, awards… all that sort of thing.

I, on the other hand, have continued my demanding career in croft management.

We’ve both changed a bit in ten years. 😂

It’s hard graft. It’s not the easiest of jobs. But the teamwork we have, the camaraderie we have, makes anything possible.

Shepherding these islands ain’t for the faint-hearted. It takes hard work, long days, and a good team around you. But what a privilege it is to get to do it.

Proud to be out here, looking after these islands and being part of something pretty special. 🐑🌊
