📖 Before a Wildfire release ever reaches a proper distillation, it usually starts somewhere far less glamorous.
A messy kitchen table. Half a dozen glasses. Botanicals scattered around. Someone saying “that’s too soft” while someone else insists it’s finally balanced.
Jack, our resident flavour genius, is the one who actually builds the gin. The rest of us mostly turn up with opinions, ideas, and an unreasonable willingness to argue about citrus levels.
So before a full batch is ever made, we run small tester distillations. Tiny experimental runs just to see where the flavours land.
Wildfire Ascent went through a few of those.
Pine pushed forward. Citrus lifted. Caraway added, removed, then brought back again when everyone realised that warmth was exactly what the gin needed.
A lot of those tastings happen with just Jack and then ideas shared with our team and friends around the table. People we trust to be honest when something isn’t quite there yet.
Eventually the room goes quiet for a moment and someone says, “Right… that’s the one.”
That’s when Jack gives the final recipe to the distillery and the real production begins. Proper kit. Proper process. Proper distillation.
That full run of Wildfire Ascent is now underway, with bottling and labelling starting soon.
If you want a bottle from the first release, now’s the time to get your pre-order in so we can ship it the moment it’s ready. (Pre-orders now live - 🔗 link in bio)
