Today we’re celebrating the incredible Tony, our Warehouse Supervisor, who is marking an amazing 50 years with Muntons. 🎉

Tony is one of only a handful of people to reach this remarkable milestone over the years. He joined Muntons on 1st June 1976 in a temporary packing role and has since worked across many different areas of the business, including malt products, Homebrew and, most recently, the warehouse.

When asked what has kept him at Muntons, Tony said: “Why have I stayed for 50 years? Well, the people for a start. I’ve been privileged to work alongside some fantastic individuals, some really good managers and I’ve had some amazing opportunities to move around the business.”

Tony will be heading into his well-earned retirement later this week. He’s looking forward to spending more time enjoying the wildlife in his garden and keeping busy with a bit of volunteering too. As he put it, “I’m not ready to hang up my boots just yet!”

Tony, thank you for everything you’ve given over the last 50 years. You’ll be hugely missed, and we wish you all the very best for your next adventure. 💚

Last month we joined our friends at Burnt Mill Brewery to support this year’s International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day.

It was a brilliant opportunity to spend time on the brew floor with an inspiring group of women and shine a light on creativity and community within brewing. The energy throughout the day was fantastic, and this year’s beer – “Belong Too” a NZ Pale – is now available from the Burnt Mill website. 🍻

As a family business, one of the things we value most at Muntons is seeing members of the same family choosing to work and grow their careers with us.

Recently at our Bridlington site, we had a particularly special moment when three generations of the Cockerill family – George, Joel & Chris – were all on site together.

With George currently at college completing the first year of his Engineering Apprenticeship it’s not often the whole family is on site at the same time, so we had to capture the moment!

Today we welcomed Charlie Dewhirst MP to our Flamborough Maltings in Bridlington for a tour of our new grain intake.

This multimillion pound project was one of our largest capital investments of 2025 and has strengthened our long term capacity while significantly improving grain handling efficiency. It can facilitate tipping speeds of 150 tonnes per hour – more than double that of the previous intake, which had been in operation since 1964.

2025 is drawing to a close and what a year it’s been! From award wins celebrating our commitment to sustainability, to collaboration brews with fantastic partners, it’s been a busy one.

We launched Climate Positive Malt and became the first maltster globally to use regeneratively farmed barley for all sacked base malts. We also relaunched MaltiChoc, our cocoa substitute with 96% fewer carbon emissions.
We were incredibly proud to achieve another EcoVadis Gold rating, and continued supporting our communities including grassroots sports in Stowmarket, local schools in Bridlington, and tree planting in Thailand – to name just a few.

Thank you to our incredible team, partners, and customers for making 2025 unforgettable. Here’s to 2026! 🌾✨
