🌞SUMMER HERDS COMPEITION – 18TH/19TH AUGUST 2026🌞
👨⚖️Judge: Mr David Brewster, Boclair herd
5️⃣ herds took part in this year’s Summer Herds Competition at the later date of 18th August due to unforeseen circumstances at the original date, causing the Club to postpone the event for a couple of weeks – this however did not deter the standard of the competition with 4️⃣ of the herds having FULL Teams and almost something for every classes.
The coins were flipped this year on last year’s outright winner with David Brewster from the Boclair herd now only at the steering wheel of the travelling but also with the prizes. The judging took place on 18th August whilst the Club Meal and Prize-Giving was enjoyed by a smaller than usual crowd on 19th August in The Crown Tarvern, Lanark.
With only five herds competing this year, some mighty and strong stock were on show from: Messrs Baillie, Dalserf; Messrs Baillie, Netherlea; Messrs Bryson, Carnduff, Messrs Laird, Cauldcoats; and Messrs Smith, Greentowers.
