It all came down to the last ball! 🏏🍻

The 49th annual Swindon Cricket Club v Arkell’s fixture ended in a tie with Club Vice President Mr Deacon hitting the crucial boundary.

Johnny Arkell captained the Arkell’s side for this fixture, but a big thank you to all the team for joining in this year. Brewery friends, family, landlords, customers and suppliers; great effort.

He was lucky enough to get a glimpse behind the scenes, inspecting the hives and seeing exactly where the local ingredient we used began its journey.

There’s something pretty special about brewing a b**r with honey that comes from just down the road. 🍻

From the hives… to our brewery… to your pint. 🐝🍯🍻 This is as local as making drink gets!

Just around the corner from the brewery in Kingsdown are the incredible hives cared for by Steve and Teresa, where the bees produce the honey we’ve used to brew our Bee’s Honey Pale Ale.

The bees forage in the local surroundings, collecting pollen from the likes of Stanton Park and bringing it back to the hive; creating the delicious honey that gives this b**r its delicate sweetness.

We then take that honey and put it to work in the brewery.

It really doesn’t get much more local than that. 🐝

There’s been a real buzz about our latest seasonal b**r release. 🐝🍺

Bee’s Honey Pale Ale; a 4.5% premium ale brewed with something rather special. 🍯

Based on an old favourite, this time we’ve added the purest, richest local honey, sourced just a stone’s throw from our brewery.

The result? A beautifully balanced pale ale with a touch of natural sweetness. Amber nectar at its best. ✨

And behind every drop? Quite a lot of busy bees! 🐝

Every great b**r has a story. Moonlight has a remarkable one.

Originally brewed in 2003 to celebrate the 80th birthday of the late Peter Arkell, Moonlight pays tribute to his extraordinary WWII missions, when he piloted Lysanders on clandestine flights over occupied France, landing under the cover of darkness to collect agents of the Resistance.
