2025 hasn’t been the year I planned, the year I expected or the year I wanted. But we move, we pivot, we learn. So here we are at midnight ā€œeating (drinking) 12 grapesā€ under a table, hoping it brings us the prosperity, changes and success for the new year šŸ„‚

RosĆ© moods and golden hour glows šŸŒøšŸ·

An afternoon & evening well spent with my partner-in-wine Jack, rosƩ lover, wine muse, and the best company for four bottles, endless nibbles, and a whole lot of laughter.

RosĆ© isn’t usually my go-to, but when the company’s this good, it suddenly becomes exactly what you want to drink.

Proof that sometimes the best pairings aren’t just on the plate, they’re the people beside you. Happy Birthday my dear one, let the celebrations begin šŸ’—

An evening of bubbles and beautifully paired bites āœØšŸ¾

Food and wine pairing is one of my greatest passions — there’s something so special about how the right wine can elevate a dish, and vice versa. So when it’s five courses, each paired with a different Champagne Gremillet, you know I’m in my element.

Hosted at the gorgeous Burleigh Court in the Cotswolds, the evening was full of standout moments — but the star for me? The scallop crunch bowl with the Gremillet Blanc de Blancs. Crisp, elegant, and the perfect match for the sweetness of the scallop.

Such a joy to help bring this evening together — incredible food, beautiful champagne, and the kind of pairings that stay with you long after the last sip. šŸ„‚

Golden hour hits different when you’re staying on a vineyard šŸ·šŸŒ…

One of the best parts of being tucked away in the Tuscan hills? Watching the sun melt into the vines every evening — glass in hand, letting the calm of slow, sun-soaked days settle in. There’s nothing quite like tasting wine where it’s made, with the people who made it. It just hits differently.

One wine I loved from this trip was a 100% Ciliegiolo — a grape you don’t see often on its own. Usually blended with Sangiovese, but here it stood beautifully solo: bright, juicy red cherry, soft tannins, and just the right hint of spice. Of course I had to bring a bottle of this back home with me.

Simple pleasures. Stunning views. And still so much wine to share…

Sorry (not sorry) for the incoming Italian wine spam šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹šŸ·

I’ve just spent the most beautiful week tucked away in the Tuscan hills outside Volterra — sunshine, rolling vineyards, endless pasta, cured meats, cheese boards for days… and of course, the wine. So much wine.

It all started last Saturday at La Cantina di Fabio, with the dreamiest trio tasting of wines and olive oils, paired with a platter that honestly felt like a love letter to Tuscany itself. Simple, rustic, perfect.

The wines:
1. Terre de’ Pepi – Rogaio Rosso Toscana IGT
A blend of Sangiovese, Montepulciano, and Ciliegiolo, crafted using ā€˜agricoltura viva’ practices. This wine offers a genuine expression of the local terroir, with spontaneous fermentation and aging in seasoned oak barrels, resulting in a harmonious and authentic taste.
2. Tenuta di Sesta – Poggio d’Arna Rosso Toscana IGT
A Super Tuscan blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Aged for a year in French and Slavonian oak, it boasts deep ruby hues, notes of red fruit and spice, and a velvety, structured palate.
3. Valvirginio – Baron del Nero Rosso Toscano IGT
A 50/50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, aged for at least 12 months in oak barrels. It presents a ruby red color with garnet reflections, offering aromas of red fruits, vanilla, and spices, leading to a soft, long, and persistent finish.

The kind of place that makes you want to cancel your flight home.

More to come — consider this your first postcard šŸ’Œ

Happy International Chardonnay Day šŸ¤

I’ll never get over how much I love this grape. It’s still a personal mission of mine to find a Chardonnay for everyone — because I truly believe there is one.

Chardonnay’s bad reputation is so undeserved when there are such beautiful examples out there — like this absolutely stunning bottle from . I picked it up at the winery in 2023, and it’s only become more delicious with age.

So much so, I’m genuinely devastated it’s gone… and with no Cape Town trips on the horizon, it might be a while before I get my hands on another!

Whatever you’re enjoying today, cheers to Chardonnay day!

Our father-daughter Bond nights have become a bit of a ritual now — one film a month, paired with themed drinks and plenty of laughs. Some combos have been suspiciously good… and this month’s might be one of our best yet. šŸø

April called for From Russia with Love, which just so happens to kick off in Istanbul on April 2nd — slightly off timing but it definitely still works… if you ask us.

We kept it classic with a bottle of Taittinger (a Bond favourite) and a couple of vodka martinis — shaken, obviously. It all started off very sophisticated… and ended in far too many giggles. Just the way we like it. šŸ„‚šŸ¾šŸø

Bank holidays are made for day drinking, right?
nailed it with their epic cheeseboard spread, unlimited wine, beer or bubbles, and a cocktail to top it all off—all for just Ā£35. Seriously, find me a better deal. I’ll wait. šŸøšŸ§€

I walked in thinking I’d end on a margarita (they make a mean one), but after a few fun chats, the vibe shifted—dirty gin martini it was. Could it have been a touch dirtier? Maybe. Was it still absolutely delicious? 100%. šŸø

When your Monday involves wine tasting and you get to take home a set of riedel_official O Wine Tumblers?
That’s not work… that’s living the dream.

Not even pretending I’m over my obsession with sipping good wine from the perfect glass — and if it’s Riedel? You know I’m adding it to the collection. No questions asked.

On the menu:
bodegaatamisque Serbal Pinot Noir — lightly chilled straight from the warehouse (yes please). Juicy red fruits, bright acidity, and a finish that just won’t quit.

The Stablemate Cabernet Sauvignon by Excelsior — rich, ripe dark fruit, soft tannins, and a little toasted oak magic. Like a velvet hug for your palate.

Perfect glasses. Perfect wines. Perfect Monday.
Cheers to the best kind of workday!

Every week should end like this: sunshine on your face, a spontaneous wine bar visit, the biggest cheese & charcuterie board you can find, and the kind of catch-ups that fill your cup (and your glass) šŸ·šŸ§€

What started as a quick post-work vino at the absolute gem that is in Bristol turned into four glorious hours of sipping, chatting, sun-soaking, and just enjoying that golden-hour magic. Honestly, it was the perfect Friday reset.

Their Grande Board offer is dangerously good — spend Ā£35 on a bottle of wine and they’ll throw in their epic sharing board for free. Yes. Really. And yes, we devoured it.

Work’s pulling me into Bristol more often at the moment (no complaints here), and with Veeno just a few mins from Temple Meads, it’s too easy to pop in for ā€œjust oneā€ while waiting for a train… or accidentally missing one. Again. Oops. šŸšŠšŸ·

How has it already been nearly a full week since we left Barcelona? šŸ™ļøāœØ That trip feels like a lifetime ago, yet there’s still so much to go back for—so many more adventures waiting next time.

Now, don’t get me wrong—I was fully committed to Spanish wines from the moment we touched down šŸ·šŸ‡ŖšŸ‡ø. But while still in the air? Well, that was fair game for anything… When you think of ā€˜opening a bottle,’ it’s usually the twist of a screw cap or the satisfying pop of a cork. But has switched things up, swapping out the classic mini bottles for something a little different—wine in a can. So, instead, it was the crisp crack of a can breaking the silence āœˆļøšŸ„‚.

Over the years, I’ve had my fair share of canned wines—some surprisingly good, others… let’s just say, less so 😬. But this Rosato from ? A total win. Refreshing, juicy, bursting with ripe red fruit and floral notes—exactly what you want at 35,000 feet šŸŒøšŸ“. Sadly, with a completely packed flight, I didn’t get the chance to sample the whole range. But with a flight to Tuscany coming up in May, I already know what’s on my in-flight drinks list šŸ˜‰šŸ·.

Name a better way to relax šŸ›šŸ«§šŸ·

After a week of rather intense work at Cheltenham Festival there was nothing I was looking forward to more than this moment right here. A book, bubble bath and a gorgeous bottle of Gigondas from Domaine Raspail-Ay.

Since 1971, Gigondas has been its own appellation and henceforth known as a ā€œcruā€ in the CĆ“tes du RhĆ“ne, it’s arguably one of the more famous ā€œcrusā€ of the CĆ“tes du RhĆ“ne, with has a history of viticulture going back two thousand years.

Raspail Ay is one of the most celebrated, traditional Gigondas estates with 18 hectares of vineyards, with vines averaging an age of 40 years, perfectly positioned all around the house. A delicious wine made up of the traditional GSM blend of grapes (specifically for this 80% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 5% MourvĆØdre).

The wine has a deep red colour and a lovely, spicy aroma full of fruity notes. On the palate, it’s big and bold, with ripe black fruits and a touch of stewed fruit compote. There’s a nice balance of acidity and smooth tannins. It’s packed with flavour—lots of red cherry fruit, power, and depth—but still feels elegant and refined. Perfect end to the week. šŸ·
