Sorry (not sorry) for the incoming Italian wine spam š®š¹š·
Iāve just spent the most beautiful week tucked away in the Tuscan hills outside Volterra ā sunshine, rolling vineyards, endless pasta, cured meats, cheese boards for days⦠and of course, the wine. So much wine.
It all started last Saturday at La Cantina di Fabio, with the dreamiest trio tasting of wines and olive oils, paired with a platter that honestly felt like a love letter to Tuscany itself. Simple, rustic, perfect.
The wines:
1. Terre deā Pepi ā Rogaio Rosso Toscana IGT
A blend of Sangiovese, Montepulciano, and Ciliegiolo, crafted using āagricoltura vivaā practices. This wine offers a genuine expression of the local terroir, with spontaneous fermentation and aging in seasoned oak barrels, resulting in a harmonious and authentic taste.
2. Tenuta di Sesta ā Poggio dāArna Rosso Toscana IGT
A Super Tuscan blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Aged for a year in French and Slavonian oak, it boasts deep ruby hues, notes of red fruit and spice, and a velvety, structured palate.
3. Valvirginio ā Baron del Nero Rosso Toscano IGT
A 50/50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, aged for at least 12 months in oak barrels. It presents a ruby red color with garnet reflections, offering aromas of red fruits, vanilla, and spices, leading to a soft, long, and persistent finish.
The kind of place that makes you want to cancel your flight home.
More to come ā consider this your first postcard š
