At Burgess Farms, one of our aims is to educate future generations about where our food comes from, how it is grown, and what it is like to work in our local community 💚

That’s why we launched our ‘Little Spuds’ project out of our site in Sutton Bridge last week. On Friday, we visited Westmere Community Primary School, took along one of our tractors, planted potatoes, talked to the children about what produce needs in order to grow and the types of diseases that can impact planting. We can’t wait to go back again in July to harvest the potatoes 🥔

Sally Massey, Assistant Executive Headteacher, said ‘The day was absolutely brilliant and the kids are buzzing! Thank you to Burgess Farms for all your time and building relationships with the children.’

Thanks for having us!

We are so pleased to have raised £1,035 for Tapping House, thanks to members of our Sutton Bridge team for completing the 10 mile long St Peter Scott walk from Kings Lynn to Sutton Bridge last month!

The charity provides care, comfort and compassion to those in our community living with life-limiting illnesses, and we are so proud that our team members have played their part. Our team got involved because they wanted to give back to a local charity, and will be doing more charity work in the future.

Dan Simpson, our Customer Demand Manager said: “I suggested Tapping House Hospice as it is very close to my mum’s heart. Her partner, who was suffering with MND, was given great care and support during his illness and all the way until the end. Not only did the charity support him, but they supported his family and my mum during his illness and after his passing, for which my family and I are extremely grateful. I’m really happy that my colleagues and I were able to help with raising money on this walk for this amazing charity.”

A huge well done to our team for their effort! Keep an eye out for further charity work which we'll undertake in the future 💚
