A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for a beautiful Harvest Party on Saturday evening!

It was such a lovely way to celebrate the end of the growing season together. We raised £150 in cash donations, with even more coming in through our Crowdfunder!

There are now just FIVE DAYS LEFT until our Crowdfunder closes, and we’d absolutely love your help with one final push to get us closer to our £8,000 target.

If you haven’t already, please consider donating or simply sharing our Crowdfunder with friends and family. Every little bit of support makes a difference and will help us deliver free community growing workshops in 2027.

Thank you so much for all your support!

WHAT A SEASON! 🌱🥒🍅

A huge thank you to everyone who ordered a veg box from us this season!

It’s been a belter of a year, although not without its challenges! From battling the heat to dealing with some very persistent moles, it’s certainly kept us on our toes.

An extra special thank you to our wonderful volunteers. We couldn’t do it without you!

THREE WEEKS TO GO!

We’re into the last three weeks of our Aviva Crowdfunder, and we’d love your help to get us closer to our £8,000 target.

The money raised will help us run 12 FREE community growing workshops at Blackhills CSA throughout 2027, covering practical skills like composting, seed saving, soil health, natural pest control, water management and chemical-free growing.

We want these sessions to be accessible to everyone and to give more people the confidence and skills to grow food for themselves and their communities.

If you’ve been thinking about donating, now is a great time.

And remember: Aviva will only match your FIRST donation, so please donate wisely and make that first donation count.

Don’t forget, we’re also hosting a Harvest Party at Blackhills CSA on Saturday 17th October, 6–9pm. Come and celebrate the end of the growing season with us, enjoy some food and drink, and support the Crowdfunder at the same time.

If you can’t donate, sharing our Crowdfunder with friends, family or your community makes a huge difference too.

Three weeks left. Let’s see how far we can take it.

Last weekend we had the pleasure of hosting a Farmers & Growers gathering with Community Supported Agriculture Network UK and Bwyd Abertawe 🌱

Farmers, growers and people working across our local food system came together for an important conversation: how can we get more locally grown food onto the plates of local people?

There are so many reasons to eat local.

~ Fresher, tastier food that can be picked when it’s ready and eaten at its best.

~ More support for local farmers and growers, keeping more money within our communities.

~ A more diverse way of growing that supports healthier soils, insects, birds and the wider natural world.

~ A stronger, more resilient local food system. The more food we can grow close to home, the less dependent we are on long and vulnerable supply chains.

And perhaps one of the best things about local food is simply knowing where it has come from, how it was grown and the people behind it.

Thanks to everyone who came along, shared their ideas and joined the conversation. There’s clearly a huge amount of passion for building a stronger local food system here, and we’re excited to see where these conversations lead.

Our space at Blackhills is also available to hire for relaxed outdoor meetings, workshops and gatherings.
