🐏☁️ A brand new day for a brand-new skill 🐏✂️

Sheep shearing day finally arrived and presented an incredible opportunity for our volunteers to learn a new traditional skill and giving our sheep stunning new haircuts!

One of our much-loved spring tasks was carried out under the supervision of expert shearer Elgan, who guided both youth and young adult volunteers on our Green Careers Programme through the shearing process as well as learning how to handle the wool after. Our young people asked lots of awesome questions and got stuck right in, and a few have even signed up for a shearing course at the end of the month as part of the Green Careers Programme!

Each season brings in an opportunity to learn a new skill here at the farm, and sheep shearing is one of them. The wool collected on this occasion helps in insulating and protecting the plants in our garden. We take pride in the fact that no product is wasted nor is a chance to build skills! 🧑‍🌾

A huge shoutout to our local partners Codi Group and Ethnic Minorities & Youth Support Team - EYST Wales and our funders The National Lottery Community Fund/ Cronfa Gymunedol y Loteri Genedlaethol, who fund our Green Sparks and Green Careers projects and who continue to support us in making such incredible learning opportunities possible for city children and young people.

🐏☁️ Ddiwrnod newydd a sgil newydd 🐏✂️

Daeth diwrnod cneifio’r defaid o’r wythos dwethaf a gyfle anhygoel i’n gwirfoddolwyr ddysgu sgil draddodiadol newydd a rhoi toriadau gwallt newydd i’n defaid!

Cyflawnwyd un o’n tasgau gwanwyn poblogaidd dan oruchwyliaeth y cneifydd Elgan, a arweiniodd wirfoddolwyr ifanc ac oedolion ifanc ar ein rhaglen Gyrfaoedd Gwyrdd trwy’r broses gneifio yn ogystal â dysgu sut i drin y gwlân. Gofynnodd ein pobl ifanc lawer o gwestiynau gwych a mynd ati i wneud hynny, ac mae rhai hyd yn oed wedi cofrestru ar gyfer cwrs cneifio ar ddiwedd y mis fel rhan o’r rhaglen Gyrfaoedd Gwyrdd!

Mae pob tymor yn dod â chyfle i ddysgu sgil newydd yma ar y fferm, ac mae cneifio defaid yn un ohonyn nhw. Mae’r gwlân a gesglir ar yr achlysur hwn yn helpu i inswleiddio ac amddiffyn y planhigion yn ein gardd. Rydym yn ymfalchïo yn y ffaith nad oes unrhyw gynnyrch yn cael ei wastraffu nac yn gyfle i feithrin sgiliau!

Diolch yn fawr iawn i'r Loteri Genedlaethol, Green Sparks a Green Careers sy'n parhau i'n cefnogi a gwneud cyfleoedd dysgu mor anhygoel yn bosibl ar gyfer plant a oedolion ifanc dinesig

Make a Difference Monday 🤗

Here at the Farm, there is one group who make a difference every day, our awesome volunteers. The farm exists because of and for volunteers, and we could never have enough ways to celebrate them! Volunteers Week gave us an excuse to shine a spotlight on these beautiful people and take a break from all the messy farm work for a bit of a party 🤩

Volunteers’ Week 2026 was celebrated with some fun-filled, wholesome activities! From Welly Wanging, indoor games to egg-throwing, as well as certificates and a celebratory meal our volunteers participated in each activity with the utmost enthusiasm and we got to see a different competitive side in many.
The week celebrated the selfless contribution of the volunteers and gave us a chance to show our appreciation for their dedication throughout the year. By treating this farm as their own, they have created a home not only for the plants and animals as well as the whole community 🫶

Our volunteers said:
“It was nice to be celebrated.”
“It brought us joy as well as a wonderful sense of belonging and made us feel appreciated”
“Knowing the farm values us for the hard work we put in feels great, it’s not seen everywhere these days”
It was a pleasure to recognise the impact they have been making on the farm and community while looking back at their incredible year of hard work.
Volunteers’ Week 2026 may have come to an end, but we remain grateful and indebted to them always!
Diolch yn Fawr! 💚

Dydd Llun Gwneud Gwahaniaeth!
Yma ar y Fferm mae un grŵp sy'n gwneud gwahaniaeth bob dydd, ein gwirfoddolwyr anhygoel. Mae'r fferm yn bodoli oherwydd ac ar gyfer gwirfoddolwyr, ac ni allem gael digon o ffyrdd i'w dathlu! Rhoddodd Wythnos y Gwirfoddolwyr esgus inni i dynnu sylw at y bobl hyfryd hyn a chymryd seibiant o'r holl waith fferm am barti .

Dathlwyd Wythnos y Gwirfoddolwyr 2026 gyda rhai gweithgareddau llawn hwyl! O wangio wellis, i daflu wyau, yn ogystal â thystysgrifau a phryd o fwyd, cymerodd ein gwirfoddolwyr ran ym mhob gweithgaredd gyda'r brwdfrydedd a chawsom weld ochr gystadleuol mewn llawer.
Dathlodd yr wythnos gyfraniad anhunanol y gwirfoddolwyr a rhoddodd gyfle inni ddangos ein gwerthfawrogiad am eu hymroddiad drwy gydol y flwyddyn. Drwy drin y fferm hon fel eu fferm eu hunain, maent wedi creu cartref nid yn unig i'r planhigion a'r anifeiliaid ond i'r gymuned gyfan.

Dywedodd ein gwirfoddolwyr:
“Roedd yn braf cael ein dathlu.”
“Daeth â tipyn o hwyl i ni yn ogystal â theimlad o berthyn a gwnaeth i ni deimlo ein bod yn cael ein gwerthfawrogi”
“Mae gwybod bod y fferm yn ein gwerthfawrogi am y gwaith caled rydyn ni'n ei wneud yn teimlo'n wych, nid yw i'w weld ym mhobman y dyddiau hyn”
Roedd yn bleser cydnabod yr effaith maen nhw wedi bod yn ei chael ar y fferm a'r gymuned wrth edrych yn ôl ar eu blwyddyn anhygoel o waith caled.
Efallai bod Wythnos Gwirfoddolwyr 2026 wedi dod i ben, ond rydyn ni'n parhau i fod yn ddiolchgar ac yn ddyledus iddyn nhw bob amser! Diolch yn Fawr!

A massive Diolch to all our Swansea Half Marathon runners who braved the miserable weather last Sunday to raise money for the Farm. They included our very own Cerys who ran her first ever half marathon with her two friends Janine and Hannah and farm friend Rachel who was also running her first half marathon. We couldn't be more grateful for your efforts helping the Farm transform lives through connection with people, animals and nature and there's still time to sponsor them by following the links below:

We had the absolute best day yesterday visiting the wonderful Swansea Community Farm with some of our amazing mums and their children.

From meeting the animals to exploring the fresh air, it was so lovely to see the children playing and our mums getting a chance to chat and connect.

Building these memories together is exactly what our foundation is all about😊

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and to the farm for having us.

As part of our exciting project development for under 5s Tyfu'n Wyllt we are offering some free nature play sessions.

We would love to welcome as many of you as possible (with under 5s) but we would prefer you travelled to us by foot or bus as we have very limited parking and can't guarantee that it will be available.

As this is to develop a new project, we will be seeking feedback from you and children attending.

Fel rhan o'n datblygiad prosiect cyffrous ar gyfer plant dan 5 oed, Tyfu'n Wyllt, rydym yn cynnig rhai sesiynau chwarae natur am ddim.

Byddem wrth ein bodd yn croesawu cymaint ohonoch â phosibl (gyda phlant dan 5 oed) ond byddem yn well gennym pe baech yn teithio atom ar droed neu ar fws gan fod gennym barcio cyfyngedig iawn ac ni allwn warantu y bydd ar gael.

Gan mai datblygu prosiect newydd yw hwn, byddwn yn ceisio adborth gennych chi a'r plant sy'n mynychu.

🪢Make a difference Monday with practical skills🪢

No skill is too small, and no age is too late to learn! So, we tied some loose ends, cause why knot? 😉

One of the things we take pride here at the farm is the varied activities the volunteers can take part in, the skills they bring with them to share and chance to build a wide range of pretty random skills. Recently, two of our volunteers, Julian and Steve, organised a session to teach knots to their farm buddies.

Being prepared makes a huge difference in dire situations by giving you confidence and a sense of security to overcome these circumstances. This session was not only informative, but also a fun activity that ended up becoming a bonding session. 🤝

Have you tied knots like this before? Tell us about your favourite knot in the comments! 💁‍

🪢 Gwnewch wahaniaeth ddydd Llun gyda sgiliau ymarferol 🪢

Does dim sgil yn rhy fach, a does dim oedran yn rhy hwyr i ddysgu! Felly, fe wnaethon ni glymu rhai pennau rhydd, achos pam cwlwm? 😉

Un o'r pethau rydyn ni'n ymfalchïo ynddynt yma ar y fferm yw'r gweithgareddau amrywiol y gall y gwirfoddolwyr gymryd rhan ynddynt a meithrin ystod eang o setiau sgiliau. Yn ddiweddar, trefnodd dau o'n gwirfoddolwyr, Julian a Steve, sesiwn i ddysgu clymau i'w ffrindiau fferm.

Mae bod yn barod yn gwneud gwahaniaeth enfawr mewn sefyllfaoedd difrifol drwy roi hyder a theimlad o ddiogelwch i chi oresgyn yr amgylchiadau hyn. Roedd y sesiwn hon nid yn unig yn addysgiadol, ond hefyd yn weithgaredd hwyliog a ddaeth yn sesiwn bondio yn y pen draw.🤝

Ydych chi wedi clymu clymau fel hyn o'r blaen? Dywedwch wrthym am eich hoff gwlwm yn y sylwadau! 💁‍

We are thrilled to announce that we are currently developing an exciting new project with the support of the National Lottery and local partners (see below) focused on finding out what 0-5 year olds and their parents need to build their confidence to gain all the benefits of the green spaces on their doorsteps to their wellbeing, their parenting and their children and family development.

Tyfu’n Wyllt will co design activities that bring families together in nature – creating a safe space for under 5s to thrive by creating a safe space for parents to feel confident to bring their children outside, connecting with each other as well as their environment.

I’m sure you can all see how perfect the Farm environment and staff team is for this but we need your help. We are as keen as ever that you help design Tyfu’n Wyllt so please look out for activities and fill in our survey

https://forms.cloud.microsoft/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=zL0M7MdN6kSMMN-ZPqJQT3seNN5K0YZGt53ShsiSt2NUOUZCRVBIMk1ZT1BFTDhHV0ozUlhEMzJFNy4u

Rydym wrth ein bodd yn cyhoeddi ein bod wrthi'n datblygu prosiect cyffrous newydd gyda chefnogaeth y Loteri Genedlaethol a phartneriaid lleol (gweler isod) sy'n canolbwyntio ar ddarganfod beth sydd ei angen ar blant 0-5 oed a'u rhieni i feithrin eu hyder er mwyn cael holl fuddion y mannau gwyrdd ar eu stepen drws i'w lles, eu rhiant a datblygiad eu plant a'u teulu.

Bydd Tyfu’n Wyllt yn cyd-ddylunio gweithgareddau sy'n dod â theuluoedd ynghyd mewn natur – gan greu lle diogel i blant dan 5 oed ffynnu trwy greu lle diogel i rieni deimlo'n hyderus i ddod â'u plant allan, gan gysylltu â'i gilydd yn ogystal â'u hamgylchedd.
Rwy'n siŵr y gallwch chi i gyd weld pa mor berffaith yw amgylchedd a thîm y staff Fferm ar gyfer hyn ond mae angen eich help arnom. Rydym mor awyddus ag erioed i chi helpu i ddylunio Tyfu'n Wyllt felly ymunwn a ni yn un o’n digwyddiadau, llenwch ein harolwg.
