The Wonky Veg Club is a community vegetable growing project based at Roves Farm near Swindon UK, providing an outreach space for local support and community groups to get involved in growing and harvesting our wonky veggies!

🇺🇦☀️ Thank you to the Ukrainian families who came to Roves Farm and visited us to sow sweetcorn and sunflowers! 🌽🌻🌽🌻We had a lot of fun, dibbed plenty, and when we took a break in the shade the grown-ups wanted to have a go!

With the rain that has followed since, we have rows of seedlings after just seven days in the ground. 🌱 The event was perfect timing!

Many thanks to Swindon Borough Council for arranging the trip.

For a guaranteed screen-free two hours outdoors, you and your children can join us this Sunday 2-4pm to learn more about growing and eating vegetables.

This week we will be planting out cucumbers, melons, marrows, courgettes, and sowing sweetcorn and sunflowers. 🌽🥒🌻🍉 Extra help is welcome with our strawberries and broad beans too, they won't pick (eat) themselves! 🍓🫛

May is a great time to be on the Wonky Veg field with so many different activities going on! ☀️☀️☀️

Everyone is welcome. Come along and join in with the group if you are interested. Help out in May and June with sowing sweetcorn and sunflowers, planting out pumpkins and courgettes, caring for the soft fruits, building a mud kitchen area, and much more.

Highworth Community Larder is a marvellous local group reducing food waste and providing support by distributing this food to the community. We are proud to contribute by donating surplus produce last season: beetroot 🫜, sweetcorn 🌽, and leeks 🥬!

We will do our best to have more bumper harvests this year.
